hairy bikers: worth the search?
12 Apr 2013, 21:46
So many of you have mentioned the Hairy Bikers diet book. Is this cookbook worth the search, or wait from Amazon. I have not seen the book in the local stores and Canadian Amazon says it's a 3 week wait. I could ask a local book store to order it for me. Asking any of you for an opinion on the book. Thanks in advance for your advice.
Hi Kate if you google bbc-food-recipe finder ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/searc ... D=p00vq8c6) then you get the recipes used in the Hairy Dieters tv program that will give you an idea whether its worth waiting for. I'm assuming you can do that from Canada afraid I'm not very computer literate!
Hope this helps.

Lots of reviews at http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Hairy-Diete ... 0297869051

I would be prepared to buy it and mail it to you if you pay my costs via Paypal
Well worth waiting for. I'm no cook but I've made lots of meals from this recipe book. It's full of 'normal' everyday meals that 'normal' people have for their dinner.
I got it last week and have made three of the recipes...all were very nice.
Thanks for the information about the book.
PhilT: I'm going to Ottawa in 3 weeks and I'll have a look around there. A big city with lots of book stores. If I can't find it there, I will take you up on your offer.
I'd definitely recommend the book Kate, all the recipes can be used for fast days and the rest of the family will love them too! Plus it's visually inspiring as well.
You might be able to get it quicker from Book Depository UK.
I'm in Australia and I find them really prompt 7-10 days if in stock.
Marie2mil: Thanks. That was easy to order. I did not know about Book Depository before. The book should be on its way within 24 hours and free shipping (hot damn!, better than Amazon) Kate
For sure!
You'll love Book Depository if you enjoy books.
It's a good book.

The curry's and spicing generally are excellent.

If you are a follow it by the letter type recipe follower I would get the book, if you can wing it a bit use the web sites etc
I followed the link to the BBC Hairy Bikers and thought the recipes looked brilliant and ordered the paperback from Amazon. I'm really looking forward to getting it despite the possible 3 week weight. Yea!
I was also trying to get this book. Thanks so much for recommending book depository! Looks great!
I got this book for christmas and my hubby and I now do 5 or 6 of the recipes regularly. I think that unless you cut the protions then they are still a touch high for fast days for me but for non fast days the spanish style chicken and chicken and ham tangle pie are particularly good. The korma is great too and so are the meatballs.
Made the carrot cake today (not a fast day)...it was great!
