Sleep troubles

Has anyone else experienced problems with poor sleep quality since starting the 5:2 diet? I have had terrible sleep lately (and not just on fast days) and am unsure whether it is due to the diet or just one of those things. I do have phases in my life when I have a lot going on in my life, or there is a full moon (seriously!) that affects my sleep.
Just wondering (won't stop the diet, though as at 4 and a half weeks the weight is beginning to seriously come off! :D

Interesting, first fast yesterday and I didn't sleep well last night. I wasn't hungry either. I usually sleep well. Shall have to see if it continues but want to continue the diet as I lost one and three quarters pounds, I know, weigh once a week but I couldn't resist. Well done that you are succeeding.

Poor sleep on fast days in the early days is a problem. The increased alertness from fasting results in poor sleep. However, it gets better and I find that on feed days I often sleep better than usual!

Thanks Caroline- I understand why sleep could be problematic on fast days, but I am having poor sleep quality every day! It could just be a coincidental phase I am in at the moment. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem.

My sleep has been poor since starting on 11 March. However, totally fired up and energetic during the day AND have lost 5 pounds. I am hoping the sleep problem will eventually go away.

I have terrible sleep but that's due to the dreaded menopause! Dr M suffers from poor sleep and has been using mindfulness to good effect according to his tweets. There was a thread about mindfulness and meditation a while back and I found some links. If you use the google search box of the left I expect you'll find it if you are interested to know more.

I am a bad sleeper and have been for a while, 5:2 has not made it worse and has not made it better. I go to sleep no problem but I (often) wake early and stay awake. Sometimes I log on here early - which doesn't help with the sleep! I will try searching as you suggest Caroline...
