I have always eaten what ever took my fancy when ever without too many thoughts of calories, I have worked as a gardener for 22yrs & weight only became an issue when I stopped work to have & feed babies. I have the knowledge now & for the first time in my life I'm counting calories properly.
The weight is after nine years of increasing finally coming off!
Thank you 5:2 & Moogie etc for this wonderful informative & highly human forum, it's helping me hugely! Xxx
Struggling to Reduce!!
by gardenergirl on 04 May 2013, 07:55
I'm still going for it as miraculously the weight is moving but I do a physical job & I'm training to complete a 6 mile obstacle course for Marie Curie which I'm running on the 12th may.
To compensate I have maintained on a 3:4 which I manage through the day with lots of water! I make and measure an evening meal within my calorie allowance but routinely sabotage with a little extra something. I'm sure it's mind over matter but in logging everything I can't help but notice a pattern.
I fast completely (other than the odd dash of milk to my tea - which I include) for at least 20hrs before eating. I also track exercise completed along with all foodstuffs throughout the week on MFP, which has been a huge eye opener
I tell myself that I must be gaining some health benefit from the fasted period but my head/body seems to be unable to reduce so far.
As I said overall I am loosing, I weigh on the beginning of the week after two feast days as I feel this gives the truest reading to actual weight. I am heading towards a 10lb loss at the close of week 4 so that's Fantastic (& never ever seen before results).
My question is this. Am I failing the system of 5:2 as I have so far failed to reduce or should I take the physical nature of my profession into account?
