Next fast day: feeling resolute

Yesterday, I had the most wonderful dinner of Camembert, crackers and some chutney made by a friend of mine, washed down with a glass of Malbec. No fuss, just raw pleasure, knowing I could savour it ahead of a day of cleaning out today. And after a weekend of wonderful eating: steak and chips with the youngest kid, lovely soup; I know I can go back to savouring and delighting in things, even indulging in things tomorrow, if I need to. But because it is midweek, and midweek is taking it easy, I know also I'll benefit from not drinking wine, eating chips or pudding.
God, I love this: I never knew I could regulate what I eat and be in charge of it. And I forgot in between bouts of 5:2 also. That's the bit I really kick myself about: it is a visceral memory not an intellectual one and that is why it is easy to forget once back on the addictive rollercoaster of non stop carby face filling. Hmmm. I need to remind my body, not just my brain next time I lapse...
