Ah, bread - yes, the texture and the taste. You must have iron self-control to be able to reduce your bread consumption in France.

Well done on your successful fast day today and on abstaining from alcohol and making a resolution to do likewise with chocolate for now.

It is going to take a while as hubby has to have his fresh baguette every day. He is becoming French! He also likes his chocolate. I wil get there though.

Things with dad are much the same. The contract for the care team is out to tender and will be awarded and in place by January 1st. Dad is to be used as a case study for the companies hoping to win the contract to show how they will cope with him! One of the things I have asked for is dementia training for all care staff. I am hoping we can use the in house care team next year.
My eldest daughter and her hubby have decided they want to live here with us! We have started converting a barn for them. They come over 1st October for 6 weeks to see how they get on and to work on their barn. Not sure how I feel about this having been so desperate to go back to England but am making an effort to like being here again.
The gite has been very busy, 13 weeks booked. We are on the last but one this week. We have also had two enquiries for next summer.
As we could not work on the second Gite whilst people were in the first one Hubby has been working on out house. I nearly have a downstairs cloakroom! It makes a big difference to how I feel about living here to have part of our home done.
The chicks have all survived. I have 4 boys and 6 girls. A boy and 3 girls are going to a friend this week and I have given my broody hen to anorher friend who was in need of one. That will leave me with 3 cockerels and ten hens, more than enough. If the boys fight I have somewhere to send 2! All sorted!
And to cap it all today I have fasted with no problem. I kept busy and honestly did not think about food untill I started making the frittata to go with salad for dinner. This evening I am very tired but happy to have come back. Whilst I have been away I have given up alcohol. I have binged too much on chocolate so that has to go too. I cannot limit it so best to give it up. The other thing I am planning is to reduce how much bread I eat, that will take longer as I love it!
So that is where I am now. See you all tomorrow
