Yippee

no nothing to do with the scales....my new iPad Air is here! No more slow old iPad! It will take me a while to get used to it and set up all my apps as I want them. Had a major battle with iTunes as it did not like my French post code. I ended up using this address with my old English post Code! Weird but it worked. I never question such things and will never completely understand technology.
So, it has been a feed day and being honest I have eaten a bit too much. Not excessively but too much to lose weight. Early days though and I know it will take time to be fully into gear.
Another fast day looms tomorrow.

First fast nearly done

by Bobshouse on 29 Jul 2015, 17:32

It was easier than expected and helped by hubby doing it too. We have the same amount to lose but I know he will lose faster!
Today we bought the floor tiles, bath and shower for daughter and son in law's house. It is coming on well. They hope to exchange this week and will be over next month. Probably hadn't mentioned but they are moving over here. It means I will have both my girls here. We are converting a barn attached to our house for them to live in. When I was last here we had just finished our gite. We started tsking bookings last year in May and sold 14 weeks. This year we started in January and have sold 23 weeks. It is amazing. The other two will be ready for next summer. We took the decision to have three one bedroomed gites and take couples. There is a gap in the market so that is our USP.
I have recently bought a bee hive. We have yet to assemble it but thete is no rush as it will not be occupied until next spring. We have a mentor who will teach us and provide us with our...

Oh dear!

by Bobshouse on 28 Jul 2015, 15:49

So, I am fat and growing. Not quite back to where I started but working towards it. My life has been turned upside down.
After two years of battling with social services to get a care package for my father, I finally won. It was due to start on June 9th. On 3rd June dad was rushed into hospital with pneumonia. On the 4th I was told to go to over. We dropped everything in the lap of a good friend and caught the 1.25am train from Calais. By 2am we were in England but the hospital said to leave visiting until later as dad was sleeping comfortably. We arrived at the hospital on Friday 5th and one look told me it was the end. I stayed with him most of that day. I met the consultant and agreed no heroics. We had to return home on the night ferry as we had people arriving in our Gite on Saturday. We had just arrived home when the call came tomsay he died on the Saturday. So ends 30 years of looking after him and fighting his battles. It took three weeks to sort out the funeral. It was very quiet,...

This has to stop

by Bobshouse on 28 Nov 2014, 21:40

I do not know what is wrong with me but I cannot stop eating. I am working hard at stopping when I feel full but know this is not enough. If I could just manage one fast I know I will feel better. If someone has borrowed my will power I need it back now please.
