Is a 'gite' like a B&B? Do you cook for the guests as well as wash their sheets?
Tried to send a PM but don't think it wentbfor some reason. The idea of a Gite came from the French government some time ago to increase the farmers income. It was traditionally the wife that ran it. It would be a cottage on the farm rented out as self catering for a nominal fee. It was pretty basic when it first started. If you want to see our old farm have a look at our website....letertregites.com. Our grand plan is to have a complex of three Gites. Two one bedroomed and one three bedroomed. Our part of the world is popular with older couples.

The latest bout of homesickness is back in its box with the lid nailed on tight. I am aware of it but am in control. Much the same as when fasting I tell myself I can have it tomorrow, the same applies to my need to go home. Tomorrow, or one day, it will happen. I am thinking of changing my name to Scarlet!
Our first guests depart this morning and the second ones arrive this afternoon. In between I will change the bed, towels etc and clean the Gite. Then I have to get a bit of shopping for the welcome pack and restock the cleaning products, toilet rolls etc. A busy day. I will be sorry to see our first lot go as we have enjoyed their company. We have had an enquiry from another person. If they book that will mean 8 this season. This is fantastic and validates our plan.
So, life plods on with the occasional blip but I know where I am going!
