What a lovely day....

by Bobshouse on 17 Sep 2014, 17:03

Took a day off renovating and went to a favourite spot with the dogs and a picnic.
1 1/2 hours away we found a beach a few years ago. It is near Mont St Michel, about two miles long, sandy and deserted! We had a lovely walk with the dogs off the lead, a game of frisbee all in the last of the summer sunshine.A lady appeared at one end and Bruno went straight to her. I was worried as Bruno is a Boxer/Mastiff, very big and strong. She was lovely and made a fuss of him which makes a change and amazingly Bruno suppressed his Boxer half and did not jump up! Frank is an ankle biter so no threat. Frank is a Teckel/Yorkie and only 15 months old. It was his first trip to the beach. They both loved it.
Frank has always been very nervous in the car, he is rescued and I think he must have a bad experience in a car. He sits on my lap which is not good but he cries! This trip started as normal with him crying. Halfway he jumped into the back seat and stayed there quietly the rest of the journey. On the way home I tied his lead to the door handle and he curled up quietly. We will get him a seat belt attachment like Bruno has and put his bed on the back seat. Hopefully we have turned the corner and he finally understands the car is not to be feared.
Again I have eaten far less today and feel I am regaining control.
Tomorrow I will fast again. So far this week I have had no chocolate although it is in the house. I am not banning it as I know that does not work I am just trying to do without it.
I have taken the decision to be alcohol free and after a month am not bothered about it. Long may that continue. I am drinking lots of Perrier water as I do not like cola etc.
At the moment it is small steps and no pressure. I will know by my clothes when the weight starts going down again. Reducing bread is proving hard as I love my breakfast toast. I try to have crackers for lunch instead of baguette but do not always manage it. I no longer have bread with meals. Cake is still a problem. I make my own and really enjoy a piece with coffee in the afternoon. Rome wasn't built in a day as they say so I will keep as I am just now.
I am pleased to say even though I have gained weight I am still wearing size 12 clothes. Some are a bit tight nut hopefully not for long.
Long may this continue!
