Discouraged

by Carleneruns on 17 Nov 2014, 20:39

Haven't been checking in to the boards much because I'm still stuck on my epic plateau. I am still wiggling around between 197 and 202 pounds. Though lately it seems to be 200+ more than 199 and under :( I'm still fasting 2 days per week and am trying to decide what to do next. I feel pretty miserable about my size/shape and the fit of my clothes. The whole thing is discouraging. I told my husband recently that I'd kill to lose 10 more pounds. I still wouldn't be 'done' but at least I'd have made some new progress. SIGH!

First Year Done

by Carleneruns on 02 Jul 2014, 18:50

So... I started this way of eating on July 2, 2013 with my first fast. Here I am one year later. The results are not as good as I had hoped, but I have made progress so overall I am happy.

I started last year at 227.2. Today I was at 199.6. This is a total loss of 27.6 pounds. The lowest weight I've seen is 196.2. But my weight keeps drifting back up to 199-200 between fast days.

Initially I was losing a pound a week and my trend was overall downward. After Christmas things changed and I began to struggle with an epic plateau. This stall has been tough. I'd really like to be making solid progress again. Particularly since I don't think I'm doing anything terribly different than I was when I first started. However, for now, I appear to be stuck.

I will continue working at getting unstuck. And be happy that my weight is a good piece lower than it was last year. Hopefully with continued diligence I can lose another 30 or so pounds this year. I am committed to sticking...

100th Fast In Progress

by Carleneruns on 16 Jun 2014, 17:24

Today is my 100th Fast. My Fasting Anniversary is coming up in a few weeks (July 2nd). I have lost about 30 pounds. I'm a bit disappointed by that. I really thought I'd have lost more weight by now. But I've been struggling with a killer plateau and so progress stalled for quite a long time.

This last week was encouraging though. I stayed below 200 pounds for the entire week. Usually on the days between fasts, my weight pops back up above 200. But this week it stayed in the 190's. Today, my fast day started with 199. But this is still a victory. Hopefully this means I'll be moving into some new territory soon. I really would like to get back to making solid progress again because I still have a long way to go.

The Endless Plateau

by Carleneruns on 17 May 2014, 14:21

So... I'm still gaining/losing the same few pounds. Sadly, the sub-200 numnbers were falling further and further in the past. The last was on Apr 25th. As you can imagine, I'm very tired of being stuck. Hubby says I look like I'm losing, but I don't feel like I'm losing.

This week I fasted Mon, Wed and Fri and finally today I am at 199.6. Finally a sub-200 day. Now to build on that and get my weight to stay in the 190's instead of the low-200's.

Still stuck around 200

by Carleneruns on 09 Apr 2014, 19:32

Have been stuck for a while now. I'm moving up and down between 198 and 203. I'm so tired of being stuck. Still fasting twice a week. Have been drinking more water, especially on fast days. But still not making any progress.

I'm fasting today and it is my second fast of the week. Am also toying with the idea of fasting again Friday. Maybe the extra fast will help me get back on track. SIGH!

This is starting to feel like dieting instead of living and that is a bad thing. When I was making steady progress it was so much easier to motivate myself on fasting days.

My birthday is next week and I really was hoping to be smaller by then. After my steady success in the summer/fall I expected to keep moving along after Christmas and be closer to the 40 pound lost mark. Instead I'm flitting around 27, 28, 29. ARGH!
