Hometime!

by Debs on 10 Mar 2014, 02:32

Just getting through today before I fly out on r&r and it can't come soon enough. Last swing I was struggling to find things to do, this one I have been run off my feet and am exhausted!
Looking forward to a week of sleeping in and eating nice food!
So ADF hasn't been the success I hoped it had, so much for eat all you want the other days :frown: , it obviously doesn't work like that for some people, i.e. me!

So Plan C, or is it D? Next swing, limited chocolate, only dark 80+%, less sweet goodies from the crib (mess), no refined carbs and lots of good fat, i.e. avocadoes, nuts and tinned fish. I shall treat myself once a week and eat what I want, but other than that I am taking a leaf out of the stubborn Auriga's book, as she is the same height, was the same weight and has wrought miracles on herself! I want to too! And a bit more exercise, well a bit more than none at all to be honest. I was...

Small notes from a large mine

by Debs on 04 Feb 2014, 03:10

I wrote a long blog post yesterday and it all disappeared in a puff of server change over. That will teach me not to do too much during critical server infaces as they say!!!

I had a day off yesterday and drove into Port Hedland, a mere 167km (100 miles) away and treated myself to a fly blown muffin and iced coffee. Nor that exciting but made a change. It suddenly occurred to me that I haven't had a hot meal since I have been up here due to my avoidance of the dry mess where they serve meals. I'm not missing much though!

The rain has eased up a bit now and it has returned to being very, very hot. The upside is that all the grass is flowering and there are pools of water lying everywhere. The rivers are flowing and all the birds are starting to breed. There are small groups of budgerigars dashing around everywhere which are lovely to see. They breed in small tree hollows along the creeks and will be setting up home. There are a lot of goannas (very large lizards) wandering around too,...

Still not hungry!!

by Debs on 26 Jan 2014, 06:55

Continuing on from my last post, I am still fasting every other day. The choccy is STILL in the fridge and I still have uneaten chicken and avocado in the fridge. No, not the same one, that would be revolting and a health risk. But still, I am struggling to eat.
I find humidity plays havoc with my appetite as well, I just want to drink. And no, not a crisp sav blanc either! Take out shares in lime cordial, I am propping up the industry currently.

It is Australia Day today and I am sat in the office listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 and pottering on the interweb. There is more wet weather predicted up here so works will be stopped again and I shan't be able to get outside and inspect. From my window I can see rows of the most ginormous dump trucks lined up. Each one carried about 50 tonnes of material, they are huge. Not quite as big as some of the Toorak tractors, or 4wds that are used to drop little Johnny off at his private school ...

Too hot to eat!

by Debs on 08 Jan 2014, 04:21

I am now on my fourth fast day whilst being back at work; I have been alternating with eating days. How has it gone? Well, not too bad so far. Despite everyone in the office stuffing themselves at various times of the day, and constant snacking, I have avoided the need to grab them by their scruffs and steal their biscuits.

I was eating yesterday and had some yoghurt and fruit for breakfast, a chicken and avocado turkish roll for lunch and a handful of nuts in between. Not a huge amount you might think. Got to dinner and I didn't feel like anything! I ended up having a couple of biscuits and crackers as I didn't want to feel hungry today. Very odd, this seems to have played havoc with my appetite. I have the remains of a roast chicken that I haven't finished yet, half an avocado that I was going to have for dinner; it is still in the fridge, and my four bars of finest English choccy haven't received much of a battering at all. I EVEN have two packets of mini cheddars still in my room!!!What...

Bored, bored, bored!!

by Debs on 04 Jan 2014, 04:16

Stuck in the office, all the roads are closed on the construction site due to the cyclone and I have nothing to do. I'm waiting for Jonathan Creek to load on the ABC iview so I can watch that hopefully. I would go outside but it is 40.5 and humid so that itn't going to happen!! Fasting today and also trying to keep my mind off food.

I have started my alternate day fasting routine for a few days to see if that works. I figure that I can do it at work and then relax a bit when I'm at home. That's the theory anyway. Although with such a long day it makes it a bit hard, and I have to seriously not think about food. Only 8 hours and I can go to bed again!!! :sleepy:

I have spent most of the day putting together an exercise regime and a series of programs, mostly body weight and HIT routines. I went...
