12 weeks in - teeny, tiny baby steps, but progress...

by MLCDz on 14 Feb 2014, 15:37

Well, I told myself if I made it to this point, I'd see if it was worth staying on and doing. It is. :like:
12 weeks in, 11.8# down. Couple of points down on the BMI. Needing a belt and moving to the 4th notch from the first. Better blood glucose readings, more energy and I'm wearing some clothes that were just a bit tight at Thanksgiving (Nov 2013). As much as I kept saying I liked it, it was great, I didn't really believe it would work for me, in my heart of hearts, I figured it would be another in a string of "try it diets" that would leave me too hungry, too deprived, too frustrated to continue. I'm not there, so I'll give it another 12 weeks - one week at a time, two fasts a week - and see how it goes, I'm thinking it will go well - if all of you are evidence of what I have to look forward to! I am grateful for this forum, as I've been hesitant to tell my family, no sense seeing their pitying looks and eye rolls with "Not again" sighs.
I have a L-O-N-G way to go, but if I continue with this, at least even if it takes 2 - 3 years to get to where I can maintain, I will be in a better place than I was when I started on November 21, 2013.
I wish you all peace & blessings and continued success on this Valentine's Day.

4:3 may be my golden goose - I must have patience.

I also need to add many thanks to the encouraging, supportive, positive comments I always get from those on this forum who have been here longer than I and had struggles along the way. Thanks for your keep it up messages, they are very helpful and deeply appreciated. I come back and read them on the days my confidence wobbles.
Hello and a big well done from me. Isn't it simple. Eat normally for 5 days and only 500 cals for 2 days. And with it being a gradual loss there's not so much loose skin either. Mine has been very slow. About 12 lbs since last summer. Let everyone know how delighted you are with your results shout it from the roof tops, because there's always someone struggling and needing some incentive.
Well done! Congrats on your loss to date and may the next 12 weeks only solidify your resolve. Onward!
Wow. So in the end you are pretty much averaging a pound a week..
Isn't that just so fantastic. I have the same view as you Mary Lynn.I don't mind how long it takes to get to an optimal weight because I won't be stopping this WOE when I get there, I'll just be modifying it. Just so excited to watch your progress. Keep going. Yay!
