My England love story - Part 1

by Manderley on 24 Jan 2014, 11:43

Here’s the story of how I got in England and stayed there 2 years. It’s a lifesaving story, maybe the reason why I am so fond of that time of my like…

Everything began at the end of 1993. I got seriously ill, could have died and, even if I had to go back to school, I had to find something to do until the next September. I knew I needed to go far away from everything and everyone to repair myself. I decided to go as an au pair which I did the 28th March 1994, the day after my 20th birthday. I took the bus at Paris, a boat and the bus again, arrived at Victoria Station in London where the man of the family where I was going to live for the next few months was waiting for me and we took the train to Royal Tunbridge Wells. It’s funny because even all these years later, I still remember the exact address…. Here I found the mom who was 15 years older than him (really strange as far as I was concerned), the 3 years old little boy named Alexander. Blonde hair with big blue eyes, a Thomas the Tank ...

The first reaction of my love...

by Manderley on 03 Jul 2013, 09:59

One month that I bagan that WOE ( I began another diet in the beginning of february -; I saw, along the way, lots of changes in the way I look, the way I wear clothes, even my face has changed however I didn't really "dare" to ask people around me how they saw it.

Yesterday was a great day. My love, my honey, my-everything-even-when-he drives-me-crazy, reacted for the first time and it felt sooooooooo good.... OK, it's felt even better because it was HIM and nobody else, I must admit

He told me that it show I lost quite a lot of weight, I was really beautifull and that he is proud of me. It sounds silly, right ? I mean, me loving the way he is proud of me. I don't care if it is silly, it just makes me feel good ans it's all that is important for me.

For now I focuse on the weight loss, he will help me to rebuild my muscles after. We even talked about a possibility for me to have my breast reduced afterwards. Wait and see...

Another thing, as we often do, we went to eat...

So many changes in so little time

by Manderley on 18 Jun 2013, 08:30

Yesterday was my 6th fast day and it went great except for one tiny detail, I made the huge mistake to eat a "new carrot" (is that how you called them ?) in the beginning of the afternoon. Huge mistake because, in the hours after I was hungry as I never was, the 20 minutes timer, the water, the coffee didn't help and, as I hate broth, I waited and waited and waited, occupuying myself as much as I could and I am proud to say that I didn't cheat and, better yet, I felt full at 300 calories.

About the changes now.

My taste in food has changed. The taste of food has changed. To give you an exemple, I had a croissant for breakfast saturday and it was just wonderfull. The same for a simple chocolate square. All the flavours seem to explode in my mouth and a little has a lot more effect than if I ated the whole stuff. I thought that my cravings would be much stronger than they are. In fact, even if I crave chocolate, I feel great with only a little and I fully appreciate the taste of...

End of second week

by Manderley on 15 Jun 2013, 07:51

So.... It is time to write all the pros and cons of thie new way of life (I hate the word "diet", it's a nasty word  )

1 - I practise my English again. I am a bit rusted when it comes to write (I watch all my movies and TV shows in English so I understand pretty well) but it seems to come back, even if I am pretty sure I still make some huge mistakes

2 - I am more focused and I found an inner peace that I didn't have. This week wa really tough, my Honey lost his step dad and I lost a familly member the same day, I caught the flu but, during fast days I felt like a weight going off my shoulders. It's difficult to explain and even understand

3 - I am looking forward the next fast and am even disapointed to have to wait until monday for the next one

5 - The weight loss is smooth. I lost 12 kgs since february, I didn't weight myself since I began to fast and I won't for a month or...

I think "it" knows....

by Manderley on 12 Jun 2013, 09:04

It's my second fast of the week, my 4th since I began to change my way of eating and I think my body knows when a fast day is here and it loves it  I mean, I usually eat in the morning, I can't stand to not have my stomach full when I am up and on fast days, nothing, I can't even finish my coffee

Does our body knows what is good for it (and nearly wrote "him") and does it put itself on repair mode, refusing to eat anything not good enough when it's fed up ? It's what it seems to me.

On feast days I don't eat as I did "before". I don't restrict myself, I just not crave the same things. I can't eat, for exemple, meals cooked with cream and butter or with a lot of oil. We had a raclette last weekend, I didn't eat a lot and I didn't feel weel after, only relieved by the fast...
