Three in a row

by Moptop on 02 Jul 2013, 21:09

Fasted Sunday and Monday and have been controlled about my eating today. I was baking for a friend, but the visit to their house was cancelled so there is a whacking great Victoria sponge and a double batch of chewy ginger cookies in the kitchen. I didn't even lick the bowl - must work on this everything of nothing attitude ...

No breakfast but I had two cookies at lunch time and half a sandwich (I cut the roll in half). Did a three mile walk in the rain and at 8pm ate a HUGE salad: mixed leaves, radish, cucumber, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, avocado, sweetcorn and a hot smoked salmon fillet.

I enjoyed the walk in the rain, despite being stupidly without a waterproof coat. The rain was warm and I kept under trees as much as possible. It was very peaceful and a nice time out to think and breathe in all the green smells. It's been a productive day all in all, and I managed to chase away the splitting headache I'd woken up with.

Also, just remembered that I went to bed very late (after 2am) and woke at 7am. Usually on so little sleep I want to eat and eat to keep up my energy levels, but today has been different. Not sure why? Perhaps because I've kept physically active and worked through my 'To Do' list? I even did some ironing!

I love the smell of determination...or maybe it's the ginger cookies? And I read a renewed joy in being alive in your words. Yea!

Hightened senses (taste, smell - Wasn't that salad delish?) and an increased sense of alertness also are common.

Sleep was and still is a little odd for me. I find that some days I go to bed earlier, yet very consistently get up much earlier than was once normal.

ADFnFuel - Yes, I seem to be going to bed earlier and rising earlier. And I am LOVING my salads. Thanks again for the encouragement re will power - I AM feeling far more determined and feeling much more empowered each time I DON'T give into food urges. :)
