Still going strong

by PennyForthem on 19 Mar 2013, 11:56

Looking back at my food journal over the last 2 years, I see I started at 15st 3 lbs (213lbs) in January 2011. By the end of the year, I had lost 2 stones (28lb), of which I proceeded to pile back on half.
January this year saw me reregister with My Fitness Pal and start all over again.
It was hard and not very fruitful, but 3 weeks later, I discovered 5:2. I have never looked back.
Hub is dieting with me, though not 5:2. This makes it easy to focus on what we're doing right, not what we're doing wrong (although we're not immune from the occasional glass of wine!)
I have steadily lost 1lb a week since 3 Jan (sometimes 2) and have never felt deprived.
It's not always easy and planning is time consuming.
BUT
I focus on how I felt when I was slimmer and that's a powerful tool. Never one to appear in photos, I have no 'before/after' images, except for that in my mind's eye.
Having a blog like this will help me see the 'big picture' and will be a permanent record to look back on in (slimmer!) months to come.

Start weight: 210lbs, maintaining at 140/144lbs. And loving it
