BRING IT ON!!

by RedWhitePolkadots on 18 Apr 2013, 06:11

Well, this is my first day... of the rest of my life!

My brother has been doing fasting for years for health benefits only (he's skinny, and always has been!). Lately though, with all the hype surrounding it, I've decided to read up and see what it's all about and can't WAIT to live longer!

Everything makes perfect sense; I  the science behind it all! :geek: ...And, of course, I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight into the bargain!!

Good luck to all the others starting their fasts today! ...And no stuffing our faces tomorrow - This is a eating plan for the rest of forever, so it's back to normal, until the next time!

Bonne chance! :clover:

Going ok so far, had a cup of tea and coffee so that was 30 cals altogether, going to wait till 5 before having dinner, having 88g of cous cous with 100ml of stock, 1 large orange pepper and a tiny bit of cheese so thats 350, leaving myself enough cals for a hot choc and small cookie as supper. Trying to drink water but i dont really do that normally so have to remind myself to keep drinking. How are you getting on? How are you having your cals? :-)

Glad to hear that you’re in fine spirits! I’m all right, so far. I’m just drinking water and herbal teas – although I did have to run around to Waitrose in my lunch hour for emergency miso soup!!

Tonight, I’ll have two slices of tiny toast, but wait! I’ve got a massive pile of mushrooms, mixed with light garlic and herb cream cheese, spring onions and coriander to put on the top!! Mmmm!! Oh, and a 0% Greek yogurt with honey.

It’s so weird! It’s all psychological, because knowing that I can have dinner tonight keeps me feeling quite ok about the whole proceedings. Just knowing that it’s only for one day and then I can have a little reprieve until the next time is so cool... instead of that hideous feeling of doubt, doom and guilt that I get with other diets... LOVE IT!

Keep up the good work!! Xx

How was your dinner? Sounded lovely. I am a stay at home mum at the moment as the OH works away so hopefully it will be easy enough to stick to it. Was surprised at how much i could have for my 500 cals, had to triple count and weigh just to make sure i was doing it correctly. About lunch time i thought oh its lunch time i should be having something to eat but that passed then it was 5.30 before i knew it. I know realisticly they all wont be this easy but im glad the first one was. Going to have hot choc about 8.30 then bed for about 10. Hope you have a good night, im not fasting again until monday, what about you?

Hey Nic!

Ah, that's good - You got more dinner than you thought you could have! Bonus!!

My dinner was lovely, and I chewed every mouthful 20 times to ensure that I felt full by the time I'd finished (apparentely, it takes 20 minutes for your body to register that you're full)... And it worked! I didn't even want a pudding.

What about this morning then? When I was contemplating going on the diet, I thought that I'd be ravenous to kill the next day, but I'm not that bothered about food today, I've just had my cereal as usual, and am content with that. Usually, I make a list of all the things that I'm going to eat at the weekend and go out and buy it all (I am obsessed with food, as a rule!)... But today, I'm thinking maybe I'll eat what's in the fridge or cupboard when I get hungry, instead of planning it all out in military precision!!

I'm fasting again on Tuesday - Tuesdays and Thursdays are going to be my days as I've decided... But please do keep in touch! Let me know how it goes on Monday - It's great to have a support buddy online, isn't it? I'll keep dropping in to see how you're doing! Good luck with it all!!!

Yeah its nice to know someone is there with you :-) i wasnt to bad this morning my daughter gave me a lie in till 8 so that was nice, had some toast but i think im going to switch to cereal instead in future. My problem was last night i just couldnt sleep, usually im asleep by 10 but last night it was after 12 just couldnt settle myself. Not really bothered about lunch just doing the house work instead :-( making tomato pasta for dinner and might treat myself to some garlic bread. Going for a walk at 4 for an hour as i need to start being more active. Hope you have a good weekend :-)
