I survived first fast day

by Rhonda on 01 May 2013, 07:12

Well I survived yesterday, my first fast day, without any problems. I actually feel much better this morning for doing the fast yesterday. Although the dinner planned for last night slightly changed I still managed to stay within my 500 for the day which is very pleasing. I was planning to eat at 6:30pm and by 6:00pm I was hearing the tummy rumbles. Started to cook dinner but instead of cooking the chicken breast on the BBQ as planned I cooked it on the grill pan indoors - it was lovely. I also had a baked potato, which I had not planned, and a tbsp. of sweet corn, also not planned, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes as well. Very nice and also drank pint of water with my meal.
I awoke this morning feeling refreshed and was 1 lb lighter according to my scales . I am heading out shortly to play golf and enjoy some fresh air. So far this morning I have had:
    Cup of tea without milk
Cup of coffee with skim milk
Fig roll (hubby forgot and brought it up for me and I chose to eat it and enjoyed it)
I will take a small handful of nuts in my golf bag in case I feel peckish during the round and it helps me to pass on the chocolate and biscuits my fellow golfers usually have on offer. I will probably have lunch at the clubhouse today, a large salad with grilled chicken or salmon sounds good - hope it is on the menu (otherwise will come home and fix something healthy). Dinner tonight will be roast beef, potatoes and carrots and onions all cooked in my tagine with a stock cube and water - mouth watering already
