You're right, dealing with your mom's death will be a long battle. I think part of the problem at first is all the work that is required of you when a loved one dies. So much responsibility when all you want to do is hide and deal with this new hole in your life. Which of course just delays dealing with how you are feeling about this new situation. It is very, very hard. Be patient with yourself and ask your family to be patient with you. Try to find a few things to support you (hot baths, extra vitamins, etc) through this transition.

Goodluck with your fast tomorrow. Sounds like you have a great plan for your meals. I tend to eat a lot of quiche on my fast days. I pick it up at the shop and toss it in the microwave to reheat it. Very fast and easy and I like the protein in the meal because it helps fill me up.
