My food management journey

Daily? record of my food management journey to see if I can learn more strategies for effective management of my food consumption

Day 11

by Sassy1 on 24 Sep 2016, 22:02

But start of second week of challenge. Hmm. Was a Saturday but did end up not fasting, as I expected. Didn't eat til lunchtime, but was hungry all afternoon and in the evening did have a few nibbles. "Healthy" ones, but I still feel I may have eaten more than my body needed. I certainly did not mindlessly eat, but I do have difficulty working out whether I am actually hungry. It is not that craven hunger of a fast but it still might be hunger!

I feel that one of the "problems" with fasting is that you learn to put up with feeling really hungry and that this may than made you less sensitive to more gentle cues of hunger??

Anyway, I still resisted the chocolate. And certainly did not go overboard - though the list below looks like it... And I feel fine today, ie don't feel like I ate too much at all. In fact, I am hungry already and debating whether to have brekkie before the morning walk. Another glorious day, so lucky! Just waiting for a load of washing to finish!!

PS again, not many veg for dinner... Lunch was the usual tuna salad plus one slice of bakery whole grain bread, had the hard boiled egg, muesli and yoghurt mid afternoon, toast and banana later afternoon, then fried rice with bacon, almonds and as much veg as we had, and an orange for dinner - then cottage cheese and berries, slice of cheese, few Brazil nuts, apple. Then took myself to bed, to stop further eating...

Goal reached December 2013, weight loss strategy 5:2, weight management strategy is eating a wide range of (mainly) whole foods but am back to following 5:2 for a while. Main eating challenge is the evening munchies!
