My food management journey

Daily? record of my food management journey to see if I can learn more strategies for effective management of my food consumption

Days 35-37

by Sassy1 on 21 Oct 2016, 00:54

Well, I am a bit behind with this. The week has been and continues to be busy, but I am taking a break before lunch to update this.

Continuing from my previous blog entry, I had another "good" eating day on Tuesday. Very little snacking. I kept occupied in the evening, which of course helped. I made some nutritious dried fruit and nut balls - all sorts of ingredients and they taste good for you. Ideally supposed to be an alternative to me eating chocolate, tho that hasn't quite worked, but they have been an alternative to eating dried fruit and nuts separately, and I think have helped me limit the quantity I would usually eat.

I have done more evening snacking than ideally I would like the last two evenings, but both days I didn't eat until mid afternoon, and I was very active both days, so it is possible that the evening eating was meeting a genuine need. I certainly don't feel like I am putting on weight and, apart from the chocolate, my food choices are nutritious. I do need to keep my hands occupied in the evenings again, something I have stopped.

But going along okay I think. Only a week to our hols - 9 days on Lord Howe Island - but we will be mainly self-catering, and hopefully quite active.

Goal reached December 2013, weight loss strategy 5:2, weight management strategy is eating a wide range of (mainly) whole foods but am back to following 5:2 for a while. Main eating challenge is the evening munchies!
