Climbing back up the FastDiet Mountain...

by Tammae on 17 Apr 2015, 12:52

I was on top of the Onederland Mountain at Christmas. Then I slipped on a rock and fell half way down. For 3 1/2 months I have struggled to climb back into Onederland and today I finally made it to the top. I know exactly why I slipped...

After 6 months of 4:3 and -42 lbs I "decided" to start the New Year of 2015 with a different method of fasting... the 16:8 window of eating. It was easier but the portion sizes and nibbling on foods started to once again become a problem. I'd gain 3 lbs... lose 2... gain 5... lose 4... my weight kept going up and down and even though I only gained 5 lbs total I felt terrible. Lesson learned... I can't fast using the 8 hour window method.

I've been fasting correctly this week... two days so far with 500 calories (one meal) and dropped 5 lbs. Obviously, my body needed that... to get back on track with repair. Today I am 197... the lowest I've been in 22 years. I have more to lose but now am SURE of how to get there. Hindsight is...

The Christmas Challenge... win!

by Tammae on 16 Dec 2014, 14:10

I finally made OneDerLand. Finally. The Christmas Challenge was 200 lbs and I went under that. I haven't been this weight for over 21 years... since my daughter was born. That is a long time to hold on to post pregnancy weight. Lol
It is the fasting. If I gain (like I did in November... 7 lbs) I jump back on that fasting wagon and the weight falls off. I'm 51... this just doesn't happen naturally. It is the fasting that has changed me mentally and physically. 42 lbs gone... 30 more to go.

Feed Day... NOT Feed All Day...

by Tammae on 05 Nov 2014, 22:44

Good grief... what happened. In mid October I lost 5 lbs in one week. I don't know why... it just happened. I've kept up with the fasting 3 days per week and usually eat smart on the other days. I've lost nothing since that weigh in so that is a 2 week period of time without weight loss.
So... I figure my body is just catching up from the quick one week 5 lb loss so no biggie... just keep doing what I am doing. But... Yesterday was a challenge, and I ate all day. It was a feed day... but gee...come on! I wasn't hungry and that makes me angry. Of course, I gained overnight. Today I am back fasting and may do it again tomorrow to help move the weight. Too many holiday gatherings in the near future to fool around with this! I want to achieve that Christmas Challenge! (You can't see me but I am jumping up and down throwing...

Four Month Check-In

by Tammae on 13 Oct 2014, 11:32

This week's weigh in shows -34 lbs in the four months I have fasted. Last week I gained one lb...weird. This week I lost a total of 6. I never dreamed my body would drop that much weight in one week this late in my fasting journey. I am getting used to the scale jumping up and down ...I think that is normal with fasting.
In the past I have cut calories DAILY to lose weight and struggled only to regain. This blessing of weight dropping off must have a lot to do with the 20-24 hour wait before I eat my 500 calories. Does it have something to do with the "repair" everyone talks about? I will continue to fast... thank God for the blessing... and try not to over analyze!

September 2014 Review...

by Tammae on 30 Sep 2014, 15:35

Total loss this month... -8 lbs. I am jumping for joy and have to pinch myself awake. Will this continue? I am having trouble believing what the scale is saying. I am post menopausal and EVERYTHING I ate up until starting this fast diet made me gain weight. I felt like a train running off the rails. I NEVER want to go there again.

Progress note: Total loss since June 17th is -29 lb. Christmas Challenge here I come!
