Poor Choices...

by Tammae on 22 Jul 2014, 18:38

I think fasting is easier when there are no more than 2-3 days between fasts. My appetite and cravings can easily get out of control when I have too many days off in between. I fasted last Mon. and Tue. so I could enjoy the rest of the week on a mini vacation. By day 4 my old habits were back and carb cravings sky high.

Not that this is an excuse...but the restaurant my extended family chose on Sunday really put me to the test...and I failed. It was a "family style" place where loads of fried chicken, fried and mashed potatoes, and sticky buns took over. The only green foods were green beans and a small salad. It was a 2 hour wait...so surly I could indulge for once. WRONG!

I haven't had a potato in 2 years...it was good but my body was screaming at me. I shall not go into detail but my stomach issues were accompanied by a nice migraine headache the next morning. Sugar is a monster for migraines. The sticky buns might as well be a giant cube of sugar. I have learned a lesson...which I hope never to repeat.

Hindsight is 20/20. I let gluttony rule. I must realize and remember that I am a person who can not eat high carbs without wanting more. Glad to be home now. I am already on my second fast day and I feel SO much better. This train is back on track now!

Starting weight: June 2014 = 242 pounds ... July 2015=185 pounds (next goal is 170)
I eat a Low Carb Diet and do 5:2. It's working. God is good!
