how Im getting on

by amberenchanted on 06 Apr 2013, 18:45

tuesday april 2nd. Fast day no1. weight at start of this 12st (168lb) exactly. waist 35/37 hip 43. worked out normal calories 1830-2000. with fasting calories at 625 maximum. will not use the calories earnt whilst running & stick to under 2000 a day which should be do-able. have been treating myself to far too much food for my running & my recent half marathon training. need/want to lose at least half to 3/4 stone. 11.3lb is my goal. WW goal weight 2 years ago. hoping to lose a steady pound a week & get rid of my wobbly belly & muffin top & builders bum (I know what I mean). damm. am 12stone exactly. not good but defo day 1 motivation!! ran 6 miles this morning then had a long sleepy bath. now 2pm & hunger noisy. gonna save the rest of my 500 calories for dinner then no-one will know about this being day 1. not told anyone as dont want anyone to know, especially my girls who are 14,15 & almost 17. not good as Im not really that overweight & dont want them getting it into their head that they have to lose weight. besides, am doing this for me. I want to be able to get into my jeans & them not be tight around my waist with my belly hanging over them. I dont want to have to cover up in a baggy tshirt all through the summer. so far no-one has noticed that I havent eaten allllll day, not even hubby. I did mention that I was reading this book but dont think he needs to know either. not yet anyway. 4.30pm. been shopping. going to have beans on toast for dinner. day 1 successful! & not as bad as I had thought it would be.

day 2. normal day. didnt sleep well. keep getting up for a wee. 3 times I think! got a bit of a dull headache today but now that Ive eaten hopefully that will disappear. did weigh myself though. 1lb lost. probably put that back on today though. havent gone mad & pigged out today although did reach the 2000 calorie mark. hoping for a better nights sleep as a bit ratty today with kids.

day 3. woke up feeling really hungry so will have a runfast day tomorrow.

day 4. runfast day 2. ran 4 miles (45mins) on the treadmill followed by 15mins on the exercise bike. 5.50pm. havent eaten all day. some tummy grumblling that went away with hot chocolate. am having 4xquorn mini fillets on a salad for dinner. feeling good. dinner was filling but too much thousand island dressing. hoping for a good nights sleep. bed at 10.45 x

day 5.normal day & its the weekend. 11.11.6lb on scales this morning but wont weigh again til monday morning which will be my next fast day & is going to be my normal weigh in day. no headache this morning which is good. doesnt even feel as if I had a fast day yesterday. better nigbts sleep. only up for the loo twice! 1970 calories today which includes the 2 glasses of wine that I havent had yet :) & a fry up for dinner. its strange. belly doesnt feel as bloated as normal & neither do I, even after the fry up. sunday tomorrow & looking forward to a run as has been cold but bright & sunny today.

Wow- that's a long run. Are you saying today is a repair day AND you ran 6.5 miles? I've just started experimenting with hard exercise on repair days. My stomach really hurt after my bike ride but that seems to be the only issue so far. It's only 2;00 here though so have most of the day left. How does your stomach feel when you run and repair?

Should have had a repair day yesterday but went to see pink in concert and ate at the o2. Then thought I would have one today but going out for late lunch for our anniversary. Will do tomorrow and Friday and weigh in after these as with all the meals out I've had I'm not hopeful about what the scales say!

Repair day 10. A much needed low cal day. Have eaten loads. It's as if I went mad on food because I could and definitely over ate. Today's fast was easier than the last couple. After school drop off went to gym. Ran 3 miles (34 mins) on treadmill then 15 mins of gocart bike (legs out in front of you rather than under you). The run felt great. Feel good endorphins in full flow. Shopping after gym and kept busy this afternoon. Dinner omelette with mushrooms and a little grated cheese and a salad. Yummy. Felt full. Having a bedtime hot choc and looking forward to tomorrow. X

Hi Nina10. Only just seen that someone had replied. Yes. I do run up to 6.5 miles on a repair day. I prefer to do my exercise on these days or a day after normal eating so that I have enough energy. I figure that before I started 5:2 I would run without breakfast so to me this is just the same. I haven't experienced any belly pain but that may be as I run first thing after school drop off. Not sure if I could do it in the evening after a day of liquids. I'd have to keep stopping for a wee!! Good luck

Repair day 12 I think. Wasn't planned but have been busy today and hadn't realised I'd skipped breakfast til 2pm and time for a late lunch. Had nieces 5th birthday party to go to this afternoon and when got there apart from egg or cheese sandwiches everything seemed to have meat it in. Don't eat meat so had polite half a cheese and cucumber sandwich which left room for beans on toast for tea. All done. Today was ok. Hubble now knows. He saw a mate who had lost weight and commented on how much healthier he looked and it was down to 5:2!! So confessed. He hadn't noticed any weight loss but then he sees me every day. Have talked about it and will keep it from eldest daughter as don't want her to twist it and think it ok to not eat all day. Bedtime now. Hope scales are kind tomorrow morning. X

No 14 I think. Hungry through the morning but had to miss exercise and take daughter to ortho. Had 3 quorn fillets in a salad and then 100g of low fat Greek yogurt and a banana. Feeling content and belly may even be getting smaller. Well, less bloated anyway. Will measure on my next weigh in. 2 days normal then a fast day feels quite manageable and am not disheartened yet. Perhaps cause I know tomorrow I can have some of that lovely bread sitting on the side looking at me. . X

Day 16 was yesterday. Beans on toast followed by banana and low fat Greek yogurt for dinner. Usual tea and hot chocolate through the day. Today I have finally officially lost half a stone! Feeling very happy. Not as fast as the earlier weeks but have had niggly hip pain that has prevented any long runs and put me off trying. So, 16 weeks til my half marathon so will get back to my usual routine. 11 .7 lbs on today's weigh in. Woohoo. Xx

Repair day today. Decided to up my exercise but my six mile long run this morning has aggravated the hip pain. It hurts to walk now so am off to drs on Friday. Am taking two weeks off. May use the swimming pool or go to yoga class but only have two weeks gym membership left. Scrambled egg on toast for dinner. Feeling fine but bit upset about my injury. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't enjoy running but it gives me such a buzz and is a great stress release. Hope I don't get grumbly with the kids x
