Hunger

by barbarita on 17 Feb 2014, 08:30

Last night I was lying in bed feeling really hungry and thought how glad I was to have had some 5:2 experience before Fast-5. This had taught me that I could go to bed feeling real hunger, would fall asleep eventually and would not feel unbearably hungry when I had woken up.

What had happened was I had been on a day course at a centre which meant my window opened at 12:30 when they served lunch. Good quality food, I had a large salad with a veggie shepherd's pie, followed by rice pudding (not in tune with my lower carbs regime but probably the ultimate rice pudding and I smothered it in cream). Did not want to bore anyone about food and diets so just ate normal portions. Managed some dark chocolate and a handful of nuts later in the afternoon but by the time I got home my window had closed.

While waiting to go to sleep I thought about all the thousands of people who were also lying in bed hungry because they were fasting for health or religious reasons and the millions who simply did not have any food.

No change on the scales this week.
