Am I really a casualty of chocolate?
After a month on the diet, I still haven’t really lost much weight. I did lose two pounds in the first week but thereafter absolutely nothing. However, I have definitely seen other benefits. My skin is clearer – when I started I had a back full of spots and would get regular blemishes on my face but these have all but cleared up. I also feel generally “better” in myself and although I can’t put anything concrete into words, I can feel that something good is happening.
So, whilst I’m a little frustrated that I’m not losing weight, I’m more than happy to continue because I can feel other benefits as well. I’m now going to start cycling the four miles to and from work each day to see if the increased activity help any further.
I've also started to gradually reduce the number of calories I consume during a fast day. When I started, I was missing breakfast, having about 300 calories at lunch and then 200 at dinner but I've now cut lunch to just over 200 at lunch and kept dinner about the same. I'll see how this goes for another month and then decide if I need to do more. The only thing I don't doubt is that I can make this a way of life and not just a temporary fad.
