Quietly Inspired

by danalu on 17 Sep 2013, 00:49

Its rainy and stormy here today. Big wind through the trees. I like the light splintering through the clouds. I like Vivaldi playing in the background. I don't like that I'm putting off starting my assignment!

I was inspired to write this morning by MrsBod who wrote her reasons for doing this. So I'm going to write my own reasons, and may they quietly and steadfastly inspire me.

1. I want to lose weight and fit into my old clothes again. I still have all my old clothes funny enough. I guess I thought I'd never stay fat, but would someday drop these kilos.
2. I would like to receive compliments again because I 'look nice today'. I don't think I have received a compliment for about three, four, five years. Not even by my husband. I used to get a lot of compliments.
3. I want to be able to MOVE FREELY and WITH EASE. I don't want this lumbering fat to weigh me down so I can't move. I mean, its not that bad, but I definitely feel the difference of being 15 kilos overweight and three sizes...

Me, I struggle with my weight

by danalu on 10 Sep 2013, 01:09

I have always struggled with my weight. That sentence is probably the problem right there...

In fact I haven't always struggled with my weight. When I was a kid, I didn't struggle at all; I just ate whatever I wanted. And when I was a teenager, I continued to eat exactly what I wanted, but I was active and I LOVED being active - whether it was a dance class or a bush walk or a random baseball game or a leisurely walk on the beach. I wasn't any good at sports but I loved to be active. Somehow that kept the weight off, and effortlessly too.

But I always thought I was fat. Compared to some of the kids you see now, I wasn't fat at all. I was 'big boned' (what is that?). But not fat. That didn't stop kids from calling me fat, because inevitably I was indeed the 'fattest' kid in the class.

Even up through my first pregnancy at age 38, I remained fit and relatively 'unfat'. It was only after my second pregnancy at age 40, that the weight started piling on. I still ate exactly what...

Moogie's win: My win

by danalu on 06 Sep 2013, 21:44

Today I opened the Forum (after a few days of not checking in) and saw Moogie's post that she has reached her goal. I like the way she has put her 'before' picture and 'now' picture on her profile, so we can see the wonderful transformation. What a great win. Though its taken many weeks/months, she is there now.

Transformation. The road to transformation is a bumpy one for me, but I am hoping that 5:2 will provide, finally, the right rhythm. I have had my struggles the past few weeks, first hormones raving out of control as it was that time of month, and then the struggle to get back on the pony and ride the new program. It is so easy to get off, and so hard to get back on. Then, some emotional things going on regarding friends and lack of community. My normal pattern would have been to go and gorge my troubles away. But I abstained, and THAT for me is the biggest win this week. That right there, is the biggest transformation for me this week, week 5 or 6 or 7 of being on 5:2. Who...
