Depends on how you feel about good and bad weigh ins...

You seem a bit up and down if the scales go up versus down, so you might not want to weigh too often so you don't have the disappointment if it doesn't show what you want...

OTOH, I weigh most days (whenever I am at home) and look at trends more than absolute weights (but if I do have a blip and go up, it does help me to focus on why - have I over indulged or is it just natural variations and water retention....... but this does take a degree of self discipline to not react negatively to the read out on the scales!! and it also takes a few weeks to see a good pattern of trends emerging....

If you decide to not weigh too often, I'd suggest you choose 1st thing on waking either directly before your 1st fast day (weekly heaviest) or directly after 2nd fast day (weekly lightest) and stick consistently to that so you are comparing like with like as much as possible. Or you could throw out the scales and not worry about it at all :)

Ha ha I do seen a bit up and down my whole bloody life has been about the numbers on the scales and I'm trying to put more emphasis on how I look and not the numbers ! I would throw the scales away but my hubby won't let me as he uses them also, think I have got a little pmt this week so I'm gonna be a bit all over the place I guess.
I'm going to try what you have suggested thank you x

just noticed you're in South YOrkshire.... me too :)

Hope you get through this week without the hormones giving you grief.... YOu have to find what works for you... Loads of people have told me not to weigh daily, but I am better if I know... it was months of not getting on the scales that meant I got bigger.... well that and the wine and chocolate

Now the daily weighs are helping me to track and keep focussed - even if I am obsessive and bore my husband about healthy eating and calorie content of his cake and latte ;)

Don't worry too much about ups and downs - the key is to see a downward trend overall

Eg Monday - 9'4.5
Tuesday - 9'4. Liquid fast
Wednesday - 9'1.5
Tomorrow - ?? Prob 9'2
Friday - ?? Prob 9'3. Liquid fast and maybe light salad for dinner
Saturday - ?? Prob 9'1 if I am lucky ;)
Sunday - ?? Prob 9'2
Monday - prob 9'3 ish

That's my week and the pattern is similar most weeks if I stick to fasts and sensible feed days

If I don't, then I may gain back more.... I reckon another 8 - 9 weeks will get me to target at this rate .... Just take each day as it comes and don't panic ;)

Well surely you don't need to lose a lot at that ?
I have just done my 4th fast and have decided that Friday mornings are going to be my proper weigh in day and I'm going to do my best to keep off the scales the rest of the week ! Not sure I can manage it but will try.
I am impatient and want quick results , how much did you use in your first 2 weeks ?
I'm also on hrt and I'm all over the place sometimes so don't know if this has any bearing but I would be happy with 4 -5 lb in 4 weeks .

I have 8.5 lbs left to my target but I may reconsider and only drop another 5.5 as I think I look pretty slim now and don't want to go to far and look gaunt .... I am starting to think about how I might move to maintenance but still fast to get health benefits - that will be a whole new learning curve... I'll need to switch to eating more on the 5 days so as to offset losses from fast days

1st 2 weeks losses for me were 3lb then a further 2lb ... Then I had a few weeks of drop a lb and the odd week of not losing much at all due to nights away with work and too much wine....

Fridays sounds like a plan .... How about you blog each Friday and I promise to read and help with congrats or support....

I don't have any experience of HRT but I expect somebody on here will have and might be able to say how it affects them....

Hi eckat
Thanks for your support , I got on the scales this morning and still only lost 2lb and I fasted yesterday. Slightly disappointed until I measured my waist and 2.5 inches have gone !!

I'm going to try to not have as much wine this weekend and as I'm working at 7am in the morning don't think I'm going to have any today.

My hubby thinks that my doing some jogging makes you weigh a little heavier at first , he's just trying to encourage me !;) I'm not giving up though as I actually don't mind the fast days and feel its having an impact on the rest of my days , I have just had a little walnut whip from m and s 140 calls n I feel really naughty,

Anyhow have a good weekend ,
Where abouts are u in south York ! Just been a mosey northerner :)

2lb's is good ;) and 2.5 inches us great - that's a whole clothes size ;)

Jogging will burn cals and help overall but if you gain lean muscle it will weigh more plus jogging causes minuscule muscle tears as you stress your body - my understanding is your body retains fluid to help heal these so it may seem as if you lose less or even gain a little, but that will settle down too....

Don't feel naughty about treats but make sure you log or remember it and don't have too many .... I find one leads to another ;) well it does for me :)

Alcohol... Hmmm my weekend downfall too but this weekend it's going to be different... Husband was away with work last night and I had extra kids here for sleepovers and fasted cos it suitedmy week...

Today I need to drive to the cinema this evening so no booze again ;) and tomorrow I am out for lunch with Mil so I guess I'll be driving again..... Might manage a booze free weekend which will mean if I make it to next Friday I'll have had 12 days off.

My weigh in this morning was 9 1.5 so not a bad week overall - I stuffed myself silly on Thursday - husband was home - he isn't usually - so pie n chips n mushy peas washed down with most of a pack of Jaffa cakes ..... And went to bed so stuffed it was uncomfortable ... Serves me right

I'm on the outskirts of Donny..... How bout you?
