Autmun Sabotage

by egregious on 22 Nov 2014, 10:23

So I'm not really a blogger type of person but right now I need to do something. I've been fasting since the beginning of the year and all was going well until Autmun kicked in. Now I cant seem to stop sabotaging myself with naughties. I like baking and have for years but it's only recently this has become a major problem.

Before A.S. (Autumn Sabotage) began I could quite easily save treats until the weekend or just have a small amount of biccie/cake/flapjack. This situation is no more and I need to do something, as this plateau I've been on since July has now turned into a gradual gain and I'm not having it. So this is it. This is where I will be logging what I eat. I may also log exercise as at the moment I'm not doing any other than weekend alotmenting, but that's not enough.
First entry:
Saturday 22nd November 2014 - GOAL - to skip lunch, eat as late as possible and just have fruit until teatime. Normal tea followed by dessert and wine.
Sunday 23rd November - GOAL - as for Saturday
Monday 24th November - GOAL - lunch - fruit and granola. To come home from work and not eat crap. Do some housework. Normal tea,no dessert.
Tuesday 25th November -GOAL - Fast day, morning exercise, veg curry for tea
Wednesday 26th - GOAL - morning exercise. Fruit and flax crackers with cream cheese for lunch. Granola. To come home from work and not eat crap. Do some ironing. Normal tea. 1 biccie/treat
Thursday 27th - GOAL - morning exercise, fast day, chicken stir fry for tea.
Friday 28th - GOAL - fruit, soup or flax crackers & cheese for lunch, granola. Come home from work and DO NOT EAT CRAP. Normal tea, sensible portion of dessert, wine.
Weekend: if all goals met do whatever the hell I want.

Hi. Well done for blogging it out. If I can make an observation, you have quite a few carbs in your goals. All those biscuits and sensible portions of desert, granola and even fruit can trigger hunger pangs and cravings. I know 5:2 allows you to eat whatever you want (but not as much as you want), but if you are now gaining, you might want to think about ditching sugar and swapping it for good proteins and fats instead. You will feel better for it. Good luck!

Thanks for the comment Karen. I make my own granola is that better? I am planning to cut down on sugar. I used to only have the odd treat in the week and then splurge at the weekends, but it's started to creep into weekdays too and I'm basically eating far too much sugary type stuff. If I can get back to just having treats at the weekend and a bit of granola after lunch (which is better than chocolate which I used to have) then I reckon I can get back on track. I'm not sure I could ditch sugar completely. Thanks again for your advice - I appreciate it :)

ETA - Oh and does anyone know how I edit a blog post? Can't believe how I spelled 'autumn'

I think there is a problem with the blog area at the moment. It seems a tad neglected. I asked a while ago if they could put the edit function back, but it's not happened so not your fault! At least you know what is in your granola, but keep the portions modest or it can end up being really high carb.

Thanks Karen. Yeah I put a small amount in a pot (well sometimes) otherwise I would just keep eating it.
