With two big holiday events in the past 10 days, my eating parameters have suffered a bit to say the least! For some reason I just could not get myself to fast this past week AT ALL, plus those two events of pure indulgence, and here we are a pound up this week. Oddly enough, I don't feel too very poorly about the rise. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and apparently my body wanted a bit of a break.

But we do not allow this to continue on for long! That would be ever so dangerous, and I would end up back where I started in less time than it took to shed the pounds. Back to keeping on keeping on!

What I've learned these past 2 weeks:
Our relationship with food, ourselves, and the best ways for us to continue reaching our goals are not static, but rather dynamic. I'm all for sticking out with one way of eating to let it run it's course and to actually see results. So, please, don't think I'm saying to get your head turned by some other way of doing things after having only done things one way for a week or two or even a month. There is something to be said for staying power. Here, at just over 3 months of this WOE, I've learned a hell of a lot, and I completely intend to continue; but it's important for me to acknowledge that our way of eating needs to progress with our changing needs in order to remain sustainable over the long term. Don't jump ship at the first sign of the wind turning, but don't hold your ship's course when there's an iceberg ahead just because that particular direction worked up until recently.

I feel myself faltering a bit, and as I clarify with myself what the reasons for that might be, I am also trying to very quickly find a solution before it falls to pieces. I'm finding that waiting until dinner-time is getting harder to do (once again, not sure why) and staying within my fasting day calorie allowance once I reach dinner time is also becoming difficult to do and I end up reaching for more foods after my FD dinner (once again, not sure why). Maybe it's because winter is quickly coming after our warm autumn here in New England and the temperatures have dropped to the 20's F (well below freezing point) on a regular basis? Maybe three months is the full limit of my personal willpower? Maybe I'm suddenly becoming a major wimp and just don't want to be hungry anymore ever? Maybe it's the festivities of the season and the desire for pleasure, coziness, and the total lack of moderation that comes with it? Maybe I've gotten to the point where I'm feeling relatively slender and pretty again and so don't feel as strong of an urge to lose gobs of weight the way I did 20 pounds ago? Maybe it's because my TDEE & BMR are much lower now than it was when I started all of this? Maybe I just want life to be easy/easier? Who the heck knows?

All I know is that I don't want to move backwards on this journey, even though I have no idea how the future of this journey will look. I have two more holiday events, one box of mom's christmas cookies, and a 10-day staycation to go before I get to see the other side of this indulgent season 34 days away from now. I will make it through! Good luck to you all!
