Fastiversary and other tasty rumblings
Well time flies and today the anniversary of my embarking on the 5:2 journey. I am fasting today as well, being tad symbolic. Finding 6:1 is now enough to maintain my initial losses. I would love to do more but my instincts tell me to keep the pedal off for a while and then when all feels well, get back and continue to whittle away towards lower BMI. Healthy range for me is 25 and I am around 27. Always weighed heavy so maybe I am were I need to be.
Thoroughly enjoying cooking at present and have churned out some 10 out of 10 meals according to my DH, the constant recipient of my culinary delights and disasters. Last night was my favourite way to do turkey mince in cottage pie which is lots of small chunks of chopped up veggies, garlic, the turkey mince fried up and then flavour with nutmeg, soy sauce and veggie stock, thicken with cornstarch. Pop this in a pie dish and my 5:2 low carb tweak was to top with a celeriac mash and then on top of that a crumble of chopped fresh parsley,...

Movement at the station
So my return to fasting after 2 weeks refeed so far so good and the scales said 75.9 which considering when I hoped onto them of morning of fast they read 77.2 that was a successful fast. Ok you say that is a fluid loss and I agree having made the numerous trips to a little room but it does say to me that the gears are shifting in the right direction.
Busy day today so broke my fast with my wonderful breakfast of fruits and yoghurt and seedy mix and flax seed oil. I have a question can one be allergic to chia seeds. Will have to google it but something in my seeds sets me up reaction wise sneeze runny nose and streamy eyes
Stats entered in the Feb weigh in and entered also into the tracker. Might also track more regularly now though I do have a book that contains all my weigh results and I had been in habit of entering from the get go my lowest low. As this is part B of my journey why not as it goes
Just prepared dinner, Wow to Rose Elliot her low GI vegetarian cook book which have...

Back on track
Think I will blog my saga from here on in. Had a fabulous start to 5:2. The weight just melted until July 2013 when I slowed down. Since then I have struggled, not psychologically as really love fasting days, but to get to what I think is my desired weight. I have a thread going about my journey for my early days called 'Gillymary's Journey' but don't want to blab on and on about being stalled. I will do that here but in a constructive way, I promise, as I know I am not alone in hitting the wall. What I find out might help someone else. Still have some ideas up my sleeve, so stay tuned.
Today is my return after 2 weeks enforced break, had a lovely fluid fast and I look forward to scales in the morning. So we will see

Tried 6:1 for a while but it wasn't enough. Rushing about doing what you do. Temptation came along. Why do workshops have c..p food I ask. I must have eaten too many carbs over the couple of conference days while I avoided the sandwiches I succumbed to cake and fruits
Then the late March weekend away in a cottage by the sea with ex work colleagues was much laughter, memory lane stories and of course we had lots of food and wine. That was not fasting fare but was a weekend which fed my soul. By now I was in April, I missed a few fasts, ate a few too many carbs and the scales told me time to do something. ADF was the answer as I was on holidays so I could mooch around home making my drinks for liquid fasting and when not as disciplined I did window fast days. Desired results were to claw back a respectable buffer and April ended with 75 on scales again,...
