I must admit that the first day was harder than I expected, but I survived. I had several cups of Ceylon tea with coconut milk in the morning. At lunchtime I had to help my mother-in-law prepare lunch for the family, my stomach was rumbling like crazy, so I had a big chunk of raw cabbage. In the afternoon two carrots. I succumbed around 6:30pm and had my evening meal earlier than usual, some roast goose and sweet potato, last left-overs from New Year's dinner. Wanted to nibble while watching TV in the evening, had a small handful of almonds and went to bed early to avoid further temptation.
All afternoon I had a strange spacey sensation in my head, not a headache but I could hear a vaguely hissing static sound, and I felt I needed to be careful not to make sudden movements (I have low blood pressure). Definitely aware of rumbling stomach, but the hunger was more psychological than physical.
Still, overall I am pleased with my first day and was rewarded with -0.8kg on the scales this...

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!

Yes, it is terribly dead here, especially lately. I think that people either just have all the information they need or have stopped this WOE. It is a shame. But stick around. It seems to go in waves....
