Hi, I'm currently starting week 2 of the 5:2 and finding no problems at all (apart from hyperactivity and trying to keep out of the biscuit cupboard). I've been searching on the internet for fellow 'Obese' fasters, and everyone seems to already be skinny that's doing it. I have 40kgs (6 stone) to loose, and I have had weight problems all my life. I have health issues with my digestive system, which means eating fibre is eceptionally difficult (I have to take laxatives daily), which is a blow as I was a vegetarian before diagnosed! My Dr gave me the gastric balloon last year to aid weight loss and help improve my digestion condition, and I lost 11kgs, and I've kept this off, but he's now talking about the gastric band...........so I wanted to know if any people with a BMI of 36+ are using the Fast diet, how succesful is it for them?
After my first week of 5:2 I have lost 3kgs (which is 6.5llbs in old money). I have an appointment with my specialist again in 8 weeks, and I want this 5:2...

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!

Yes, it is terribly dead here, especially lately. I think that people either just have all the information they need or have stopped this WOE. It is a shame. But stick around. It seems to go in waves....
