I began this way of living just before my 54th birthday in an attempt to, hopefully, change my possible decline into dementia - as has my darling Mum -and to possibly take off the little bit of extra weight I could never shift. Since mid 2004 my family has been eating low GI our diet has been fairly good but I plateaued a long time ago and go up and down - my lowest being 60kg. Hubby has recently been putting on weight and since his return from a work trip he has joined me - I can already see him losing his middle. May it continue. I consider this, not a diet, but a restoration to correct order for my body and hope it has an effect on the cholesterol and other functions that might have gone out of wack as I age. I exercise regularly. Hubby had an aneurysm followed by a stroke before he was forty with subsequent problems, so this should be a good lifestyle move for him also. I am grateful for finding out about it via the radio station I listen to in the afternoons...

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!

Yes, it is terribly dead here, especially lately. I think that people either just have all the information they need or have stopped this WOE. It is a shame. But stick around. It seems to go in waves....
