I'm pretty sure fasting on a Saturday is not the most popular choice. Regardless, I have chosen it not just as any old fasting day but my first one and I must say I can't recommend it highly enough! Luckily I'm no party girl or adrenaline junky and my Saturday's are most commonly spent as mum taxi / cleaner / tv watcher. This more sedentary day has allowed me to respond to my body throughout the day which I wouldn't be able to do during the week when I work full time as a teacher. When my hunger first struck it appeared to be accompanied by a greater lethargy and tiredness - so I had a rest for a while: read a little, signed up to this forum and I feel wide awake again now! Something I could not have done with a class of 32 children around me!!
I'm not sure how desirable Saturday fasting will be in the longer term - we traditionally have a family tv supper which we really enjoy and I don't want to exclude myself from that - that's the whole beauty of this diet after all!

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!
