My monthly weigh-in on Oct 2 brought unwelcome news: I had GAINED just over 3lbs back--horrors! So, I could get pissed off and throw in the towel ("5:2 doesn't work either, I give up!"), or I could analyze what might be going on; I chose the latter. I realized that I had slipped up on being really strict on light days; I got into the habit of eating popcorn (low cal, yes, but hard to stop), having a low cal frozen yogurt bar (not just an occasional treat, but every light day), and not planning dinner specifically ahead of time--vague notions of "I'll have a salad" or "I'll do a stir fry" tend to be more caloric than desired. So, now...NO popcorn on light days; frozen yogurt only if I really want it; and make sure to plan dinner several hours in advance, using MFP.

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!

Yes, it is terribly dead here, especially lately. I think that people either just have all the information they need or have stopped this WOE. It is a shame. But stick around. It seems to go in waves....
