Registered on 12 November (day 1) with more impetus than ever before to get weight off.
In March 2011 I saw a photo of myself in my drysuit (I'm a scuba diving instructor) and thought I looked terrible. I was 17st 9lb at that time. I had crept up to this size over the last ten years of married life. At that point, I'd been separated since December 2009 and living on my own had only made matters worse in the weight dept.
I made a conscious decision to lose weight and over the next six months got down to 14st 1lb. Most of this was down to the stress of a mad short term relationship with and eating one meal a day (salad in the evening) and only drinking black coffee.
I felt great about the weight and went from 40" trousers to 34"...which I'm still in now, only less comfortable. My head was messed up though from that relationship breakdown, so didn't fully appreciate what I'd achieved.

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!

Yes, it is terribly dead here, especially lately. I think that people either just have all the information they need or have stopped this WOE. It is a shame. But stick around. It seems to go in waves....
