Today is my first fast day. I am so very excited! I am 51 years old and like many others my age have tried just about every diet under the sun and not had lasting success. I purchased the book and read every page of it and then really thought about it for a week or so and did some additional research. I wanted to make sure I was in the right "mindset" to do this! It seems so easy compared to the numerous diets I had tried before. My fear was that if it sounds to easy - it won't work. But after reading the book, watching the hour long show on PBS and following up with some research of my own, I couldn't wait to get started. Unfortunately, one of the most important things I forgot to do today was weight myself for goodness sake! I am not letting that stop me from getting started however. I will weigh myself around noon today and go with that figure. I started my morning with a cup of black coffee around 7 am. Then at 10ish I had a cup of hot tea and a salad that I had...

Losing 1.6 pounds is hardly a plateau! You are not going to keep losing at the same rate as the beginning. You should be very happy with 1 pound a week!
