Day13 & 14 - free days Day 15 fast day

by jmousey on 30 Sep 2013, 10:06

weight day 13 8st 11

Well day 13 is a day off but I can't hide my disappointment. I'm running 18miles but feel quite unmotivated and very heavy. The day went like this

6am: 2 mini croissants (250)
10am: 2mini snickers (200)
1130: 2 mini snickers(200)
2pm: goats cheese ciabatta, chicken wings, white wine (1000)
7pm: starter portion chinese chilli beef (500)

I would think I probably ate about 2500 cals in all but I ran 18miles (the snickers fuelling that run) so I thought this isn't too bad. Also to point out, I wasn't hungry for my breaky and had to force myself to eat. But was hungry towards the end of the run which was over 3 hours in fairness and it was very hot.

When I came back from the run I was 8st 9.5 but that was water loss. I give the day 6/10 as was clearly bloated and ate crap. Feeling quite demotivated

Weight day 14: 8st 11.5

Day 14: is kind of a free day but no alcohol. I feel kind of rotten from the alcohol and also no sleep. Awake at 7am and exhausted. I hold off eating til 1130am when I have a boiled egg. However, I really feel sorry for myself. I had really hoped to hover around 8st 10 over the weekend and then I would know I have definitely lost. But it seems that I have not despite the low carb all week. Today is an actual disaster in the end

1130 am: boiiled egg(70)
1pm: goats cheese ciabatta, chicken wings (800)
7pm: pizza and fries (1000)
8pm choc cheese cake (400)

Total 2170 cals. Way over what I intended but at least I stuck to no alcohol. But I feel really really full. I know I will regret this tomorrow when I stand on the scales.

So the week in total worked out at 9997 for the week which is an average of 1428 per day. This is actually on the button for 5:2. But I also did 16:8 so really I should have lost this week. I can't tell if I did.

Day 15: Weight 8st 12.75.
DEPRESSION. I am soooo bloated, my digestion is all clogged. I think I will need to rethink things. Weekends are a disaster for me - I work so hard during the week that I have no control at weekends. I need to allow for that. So I think I will need to go to 4:3 for the moment. Tough with the marathon but you would think with all this training I would have lost way more than I have. I know I am not 8st 12 as I truly am bloated. But will I hit my goal of 8st 8(or my personal goal of 8st 6) - I doubt it. I'm devestated as have an event the next 2 weekends that I really hoped to look well for. So today is the 1st of 3 fasts this week. It will be nothing but coffee til I get home. then Ill have salmon darne and some veg. I would switch to liquid fasting but too tough with 6miles to run later.

I am hoping I stand on the scales and am 8st 10(or less) tomorrow but for today I give it a 3/10

Hang in there! You are probably retaining quite a bit of water, the saltiness of the food from when you went out and the muscle repair from your long run. Give it time and the scale will settle down for you. With this WoE there is quite a bit of scale fluctuation and coupled with your training .. well I supposed you are bound to bounce around alot more. Have you measured? Are your clothes looser? Also, when you low-carb you may be using up some of your glycogen stores and glycogen has alot of water so scales drop significantly, when you go back to carbs the glycogen builds again along with it's store of water and the scales are back up. Good luck and be kind to yourself. :)
Thanks Betssysgr8 - in fact you must be right as within 2 days I've dropped below wheat I was last week so that's a downward trend with lots of fluctuation.
