Day 59 Fast day

by jmousey on 18 Nov 2013, 17:57

Weight: 8st 7

Well unusually I decided to update my blog on the day I'm actually fasting. My gastritis is kind of playing up on me after having a cup of tea. Thought I might be able to handle it but too soon obviously. I think I will try again Thurs/Friday and that will dictate how my weekend celebrations go. Todays fast day was relatively easy in that I wasn't really too hungry but then I got rid of some gas (gross I know sorry) and I was a bit hungry. Still not managing massive meals though. I haven't been very productive today as I feel lethargic and like I need sleep even though I've done nothing but sleeep the last few days (except last night). Today looked like this:

730am-1pm:2 ginger teas
1pm: butternut squash casserole (234), 2 peanut butter cookies (106)
4pm: quark(84)

That makes my cals and carbs: 30. Those wretched carbs - the butternut squash is surprisingly high in carbs at 17. It would be fine if I wasn't having the cookies I suppose. Ah it's not the worst but was trying to keep around 25 and rarely succeeding.

It's only 6pm now. I was intending to have a skinny chai latte in starbucks (100cals) but my experience with the tea earlier has put me off. I need to stock up on the ginger tea actually as nearly out and it's the only thing keeping me sane without my usual cuppa. I'd have caffeine free but I'm afraid of my life of making myself worse again. I give this day 6/10 as still not feeling right and weight moving in wrong direction despite not eating very much. RAGE :pissedoff:

jmousey, I worry about you. I have been following your blog and not saying anything, minding my own business. But, then I worry. So I might as well say what I'm thinking and you can tell me to bugger off if you like.

It seems to me that your BMI is already ln the healthy range so losing weight should not be your health focus.

When I look at your list of foods I can't help but notice the absence of vegetables. I wonder if you are getting enough fibre? I wouldn't be surprised that you have issues with digestion. Never mind carbs, start eating lettuce! Carrots! The humble spud.

This comes with love. Xxxxxxx

@sallyo thanks so much for your concern - it is actually very heartwarming. Here was me thinking I eat lots of veg but in fact maybe I'm wrong. I'm going to look up what vegetables I could eat to increase fibre. I know I have spinach at home so I will eat some of that tonight. OK new goal is to up the healthy vegetables. Thanks sallyo x

Five veg and 2 fruit a day is the goal, which I must admit I rarely reach. I'm glad you are not upset with me for sticking my nose in!
