My Intermittent Fasting Journey

My progress on Intermittent Fasting will be posted here with updates on my weight being posted daily, and with updates on my waist size and body fat content being posted on a weekly basis on a Monday. My weigh-in day was a Monday but I will now be weighing in every day in order to keep everything on track, and I now fast on a Monday on most weeks (although that will often change depending upon my circumstances at that time). Day 101 - Feeding Day 72

With the results that I showed at yesterday's weigh-in, it would have been tempting to have a completely free day and go over the top with my calorie and carb intake. However, the experiences of the last few weekends show that I am still very prone to some big weight gains when I do that and although I have then been able to quickly reverse those weight gains, I have always had to revert to putting in place, a reduced calorie day in order to do so.

That is something that I don't want to have to do and so, I made that sure that I was still a bit careful with yesterday's calorie intake, albeit in a slightly more relaxed manner. Yesterday began in the manner in which my feeding days usually begin, with a breakfast of two slices of bacon with two scrambled eggs and a tomato. With that, I had an apple and a glass of milk. I then had my gym session which went very well except for the poor performance on the rowing machine. In the end though, that didn't matter because I still comfortably achieved my target of 1000 calories burned over the two sessions both yesterday and on Sunday and so, there wasn't the same level of determination yesterday as what there was last Wednesday.

My lunch then consisted of two slices of ham with some salad, a tomato and some salad cream. With that, I had an orange and a glass of milk. I had an extra snack consisting of a small stick of Austrian cheese and my carb intake was slightly higher than of late and came in the form of two fish cakes with breadcrumbs which I had with a pile of salad for my evening meal, along with some salad cream, a small orange and a glass of milk. Overall, that was quite a reasonable calorie intake and I didn't really go over the top at any time. However, I always had a hunch that by avoiding that inevitable weight gain which usually comes with the first feeding day after a fasting day, I would merely just be postponing that until the next day.

That was technically, how it turned out to be as the scales showed an increase of 0.3kg this morning from yesterday's record low levels for my weight. However, the net weight gain across the two feeding days that I've had since my last fasting day amounts to just 0.1kg over those two days and since that is only a very tiny amount, I can for all intents and purposes, say that I have successfully maintained my lower fasting weight over those two days and so, that is a result which I'm actually quite pleased with. If I can keep my weight down again today by being just as careful as what I have been so far this week, that should mean that I will be going into tomorrow with my weight at a similar level to where it previously would have been under 5:2. That in turn, should put me in a reasonably good position for tackling that dreaded weekend which lies ahead. With that, I'm feeling confident that from there, I can complete my first week of weight maintenance in a successful manner.
