My Intermittent Fasting Journey

My progress on Intermittent Fasting will be posted here with updates on my weight being posted daily, and with updates on my waist size and body fat content being posted on a weekly basis on a Monday. My weigh-in day was a Monday but I will now be weighing in every day in order to keep everything on track, and I now fast on a Monday on most weeks (although that will often change depending upon my circumstances at that time). More information about my weight loss background and my goals for the future on intermittent fasting can be found on my first forum posting which can be seen by clicking here.

Day 102 - Feeding Day 73

Current Actual Weight: 70.4kg (11 stone 1 pound)
Current Trend Weight: 71.8kg (11 stone 4 pounds)

Yesterday felt a bit strange in a way because that would previously have been my second fasting day of the week under 5:2. Now that I am doing 6:1 though, that is no longer the case and so, it did feel strange doing a feeding day where I previously would have been fasting. However, the daily weigh-ins are now showing that a second fasting day is unnecessary anyway, especially as I'm not looking to lose any more weight.

The previous day's weigh-in had shown that I was maintaining my weight from my last fasting day really well, but I did record a weight gain yesterday (due to a slightly increased carb intake) and because of that, I made sure that I was a bit more careful with my eating yesterday than what I was on the previous day. That meant cutting out the extra carbs that I had re-introduced on the previous day, and not consuming any additional snacks during the day.

The day started as normal with two poached eggs and two slices of bacon for breakfast along with a tomato, an apple and a glass of milk. I then had two slices of ham with some salad for lunch along with a tomato, a small orange and another glass of milk. Yesterday morning also brought my step class which went quite well. Anyway, I then had a pork chop with some salad, a tomato and a small orange for my evening meal along with another glass of milk.

That is a similar calorie intake to the one which saw me record a slight weight loss on Wednesday morning. On this occasion though, the resulting weight loss at this morning's weigh-in was actually larger than what it was on Wednesday because this morning, I have lost 0.7kg since yesterday morning. That now takes my weight down to 11 stone 1 pound which has now beaten my all time record for my lowest ever weight by 0.4kg. Furthermore, my weight is also 0.4kg below the level that it was at after my second fasting day of last week, despite the fact that I have only had one fasting day this week.

That in turn, has put me in very good stead for successfully completing my first week of weight maintenance under 6:1. Last week, I then went on to gain 2 pounds at Saturday morning's weigh-in and then, there was that big weight gain on Sunday that meant that I had to lose weight on the final day in order to achieve my final goal of being under 11 and a half stone at Monday morning's weigh-in. That is something which I am well aware of, and that demonstrates that I am still capable of recording some very large weight gains from one day to the next. Furthermore, I have not yet allowed myself any special treats. Those treats will be consumed though during the weekend, and that is when the weight gains are likely to happen (otherwise I would not need to be fasting at all, going by how my weight has been going during the rest of the week).

However, my weight is currently a pound below where it was at exactly a week ago and so even if I over-indulge in the same manner over this coming weekend and record the same weight gains once again because of that, those weight gains could not now, be enough to force me to have to lose weight over Sunday in order to remain at or below that final target weight which I achieved on Monday. That is a much better position to be in going into the weekend and so, I don't have the same concerns about that now as what I previously had. If anything, I would actually be more worried if I continued to lose weight over the weekend in the manner in which I am doing just now and so, I will now be looking forward to enjoying that weekend ahead.
