Feeling Fat
by rawkaren on 02 Dec 2013, 11:28
I gave myself the day off on Saturday. No calorie counting, a bit weyhey I suppose to celebrate, but also I had resolved that it’s ADF all the way to Christmas now.
Liquid fasted yesterday. Went very well:
Calories 372
Carbs 28% (26g)
Fat 65% (27g)
Protein 6% (6g)
Breakfast bulletproof coffee. Lunch and dinner carrot and red lentil soup. I made enough for tomorrow's fast day.
Plus yesterday's exercise was chest, shoulders, tri's and abs in the gym, plyo’s this morning and I also have a yoga class too. I didn’t train on Saturday hence me doubling up today, but did my steps. I also did double duty on Friday but didn’t quite finish the second workout as I was feeling a bit wobbly towards the end of it and I didn’t want to compromise my form. All this training is a bit unprecedented for me.
I have increased my weights this week. I can now lift reasonably heavy and I have really noticed a change in my strength levels this week.
However this morning I felt ‘fat’. It’s funny but I always feel like that after a fast day, but today I really really did. Yet this morning I have reclaimed 3 pairs of trousers from the back of the cupboard (size 10 UK, – 6 USA). Very generous on the waist but one of them still snug on the thighs. I’m at that awkward stage with my body shape as my waist is already 26.5 inches, but I have heavy thighs and calves so I end up sizing up on trousers.
The worst thing though is that I’m starting to be really conscious of the amount of body fat I’m carrying. When I started, it was 35% and now its 31%. The challenge is though now I’m quite toned underneath it all, it’s hanging differently. I can see the fat quite separate from the muscle and its all soft and marshmallowy sitting on top of some very hard muscle. Ugh. Very noticeable around the middle and it looks like I’m going to have some skin sag on my thighs and stomach. I hope it’s not too bad.
I’m not doing 16:8 today as my medical is tomorrow afternoon and I need to be fasted, so I want to make sure I eat something tonight!
