1st week over

by juliusi on 23 Mar 2013, 08:15

So the 1st week on 5:2 diet is over. I have lost 1.7kg over this week and done 3 fasting. I confirmed yesterday's weight even if I really ate a lot, trying to do some carbo loading for today's race. I am glad about the result and I am pretty sure the weight loss will drop a little bit in the next week since it is easy to loose a bit more at the beginning of a new diet. Overall I am quite happy about how I managed the 3 fasting days. If I plan the day in advance I know when and what I am going to eat and learnt that I need to have a bit more at lunch than in the evening. What I have to do now is to look carefully my feeding day. I must reduce the junk food on those days, like nutella or snacks that I don't really need. I am thinking to make 2 days out of the 4 remaining, sweet free days above all if they are non training days. If I can improve on this I am sure things will go in the right direction. As I said I am quite happy and can see some result by looking myself in the mirror. My belly has flattened and I feel lighter already and I am looking forward to go back to 74kg as I was 2 years ago when I really felt great and my running was the best I ever experienced. Today I have started with a good breakfast as usual and I have planned a nice lunch very early around 11 so that by 2pm when the race starts I will be full, but have already digested. I will be on my feet for 6 consecutive hours trying to run as much as possible. Last year I covered 58km, but I won't be able this year to do the same. I didn't have a great winter and therefore find myself a bit behind with my training. I am going for 55km, hopefully 56, but in any case it will be a good training and the longest so far. I will test my race eating and drinking so that as previously everything will be already tested coming May 26th when I will go for my 100Km race. Well that's all for the day. Wish everyone a great day both fasting and non. Ciao. J
