Good that today is fast day

by juliusi on 15 Apr 2013, 08:40

After a PB on Friday morning clocking at 75.6kg, the last 3 days have seen just an incredible upward trend that has brought me to 77.6kg.
I am so glad today I am fasting because I really can't see the weight going up anymore. As I wrote in a post I didn't overdue on these past days, but I am just going up and up and up. I know that eysterday for sure I had food that exceeded my TDEE and I am aware of this, but I gained too much weight in just 3 days. An explanation coming form the post is that my training has as a consequence water retention and therefore weight gain and after a 12k run on Friday yesterday I went for my long run covering 35km and therefore this could be a reason. Thinking about it closely I cannot really say that this is the real reason. I would take it into consideration if I were an occasional runner, but I do sport, and quite consitently, for long time each time I go out running and therefore shouldn't see this kind of variations. I am a bit confused and I hope to get back on track immediately.
Today I will do my 10th fast. I can't believe I am already at N° 10 and this will be my 3rd fast during which I will wait till evening to eat something. I find this way quite easy to do and have a complete dinner at once. I have noticed that if I don't trigger the hunger switch there is no problem to get through the whole day. It is a wonderful and sunny day in Southern Italy and I will go later out for a recovery run, just to enjoy the weather and accelerate the muscle recovery form yesterday's run, during which I felt very good even if I went our at 5.30am and the heat later in the morning was quite tough. After the run went with my wife and my son to the zoo for the first time for him. We had a great time, even if very tiring, and he saw finally live all those animals seen only in books.
Well wish everyone a great fast and non fasting day.
Ciao,
J
