Raw Karen's Blog

A bit brassed off

by rawkaren on 09 Nov 2013, 12:56

The week of daily weigh-in experimentation is over. I'm precisely where I was this time last week. The fluctuation was 2lb's in total. It has tipped me into 'diet' mode and my moods are driven by the number on the scale. This is not a good feeling. I prefer monthly, but now I'm a bit obsessed.

I did a almost 'perfect' week. 4:3, 16:8, hitting my TDEE on feast days and only one carby meal which was a small seafood risotto on Wednesday when I was out with my friend.

So I guess this is the muscle-weighs-more-than-fat excuse. On the positive my body fat is down 1.2% on the previous week. Thank goodness for some progress. But I have been working out like a complete lunatic, with only one day off in the last two.

Yesterday's numbers
Calories 1441 (TDEE is 1448)
Carbs 30% 112g - in range
Fat 50% 81g - in range
Protein 19% - 71g in range

Breakfast was a small bulletproof coffee, the gym session and then a big breakfast calorie-wise of a banana, slice of banana paleo bread, slice of pumpkin paleo bread and 16 walnuts.
Lunch was a flank steak and cherry tomatoes
Dinner was another slice of paleo banana bread and a slice of low fat tea loaf (nod to birthday).

Needless to say this was not a 16:8 day but I was so hungry after the gym session, it being straight on the back of a fast day, I needed to eat and I just carried on.. Today I have still not eaten despite doing another workout.

Yesterday I did a legs and back workout plus abs and today a chest and arm workout plus abs. You are not supposed to do the ab workout on consecutive days, but I had changed my routine around this week to fit in with my schedule. I still managed 40 superfast mason twists at the end. Must have been birthday cake fuel

Despite how far I have come, I feel like a have a bit of a black cloud over me today.
