Day 132

by rawkaren on 30 Dec 2013, 17:36

Well Christmas over and new year beckons. Always an emotional time of year. Sad in many ways but in other ways it inspires hope......

I have pretty much managed to navigate the festivities unscathed. I have had one or two over the top days, but no chocolate attacks since I have had no cravings for sugar. Vino has been generous but overall it could have been a lot worse.

I took a breather from recording food data and also weighing. Decided to check the damage in the new year. Pulled on a pair of jeans I have not worn since last year and they fit so things can't be that bad. :victory:

I managed to fast last on 26th, but nothing since then and I'm not sure when I can fast next. Thursday is possible. So I'm going to try to stick with 16:8 as a minimum for the rest of this week.

We ate lunch out today as follows:
Beef carpaccio with Parmesan and rocket
Turbot baked in salt with tomato ravioli
Glass of rose wine

Walked loads today too and still feeling very full so nothing to eat now until tomorrow.

Thinking about whether I should make any New Years resolutions.....

Hi Karen

Hows the weather over there (assuming you made it!) ? :)

I never bother with NY resolutions, too easy to break. After finding 5/2, I have finally broke the, I'll cut back my food tomorrow. Always the first of the month I would say it, and by the end of first week, out of the window, then eat even more and beat myself up for failing. I was never one for picking it up next day, so that would turn into the next month, the next year etc. Had the same cycle for 18 yrs, and no weight loss but lots of gain. 5/2, I started mid month and never looked back since !

So I will stick with this WoE and no promises :)

Hope you are well and having a lovely time.

Gill

Hi Gill. Made it. Quite a road trip and then a choppy flight but worth it in the end. Posted a pic on the chatterbox thread. You make a good point about resolutions. I'm still undecided but certainly sticking with 5:2 for sure!
Happy New Year!
Xx

Yes, hope you're having a nice break. Just looking at villas, and flights for my gang next year. Anyways I've never set a New Years resolution. This year I will "keep up the good work" will that do.?
