Day 69 Feed Day

by rawkaren on 28 Oct 2013, 07:34

Yesterday was a fast day (I'm still ADF'ing to repair for holiday). Still not stepped on scales.

Saturday (Feed Day)
Calories 1307 (TDEE is 1455). More about that in a moment
Carbs 35% (107g)
Fat 50% (68g)
Protein 14% (43g). This is under my 59g-114g current 'target' range for TDEE days

Saturday Food
Breakfast - Large bulletproof coffee
Lunch - Home made prawn korma followed by home made low fat, sugar free tea loaf
Dinner - Roasted garlic and califlower soup, v small piece of walnut and date rye with raw goats cheese, medjool date

All very lovely. Still had calories over and felt stuffed, so decided to use the rest of calories on vino. Quelle horreur   I could not drink it! I managed about a third of a glass and chucked the rest down the sink. This has never happened before. It's a good thing. I'm an accomplished wine drinker, but didn't even care that I threw it away.

Sunday (Fast Day)
Calories 429
Carbs 45% (49g)
Fat 24% (12g)
Protein 31% (34g)

Sunday Food
Breakfast - David Kirsch Chocolate Protein Shake made with coconut water (makes it bearable)
Lunch - steamed broccoli chargrilled with chilli, garlic and tspn rapeseed oil
Baked apple with cinnamon
No dinner

I don't like protein shakes, but a quick squizz of my data (and the fact that I'm back in the gym), meant that I felt I should have a bit of a protein injection. The Kirsch shakes are probably the best around in the UK. Not too many nasties, and not too bad made with coconut water. I was wondering if I should make one with coffee next time into a mocha.

Anyway from a carb point of view, I think I have been below my target of 115g every day, even though I have only been recording since Friday. This MUST mean I'm repairing surely? My last ADF fast is tomorrow and then the week will be done and then I'm going back to 5:2.

Training wise. Yesterday was P90X plyometrics. This is basically an hour of high impact squats, jumps and lunges. I tried to take as much impact out as possible first week in by using the rebounder where I could. I'm not stiff this morning, but my abs are tight. This will be from Saturday's ab ripper session. I'm fitter than I thought I was. This might be from yoga and also earlier this year being in the Speedflex gym. I gave that up to save money.

P90X encourages you to take those before, during and after pics wearing as little as possible. So on went the bikini and out came the camera. The sun was shining through the window when I took possibly the worst 'selfie' known to man, and the cottage cheese on my thighs made me realise that they really were the legs of an almost 51 year old. I always thought I looked ok for my age, but the camera never lies - especially the iphone. Yesterday I found that P90X do an app, so I had to go through the whole routine again as they have a facility for the camera where you put your knees, eyes and nose on particular points of the grid. This time I was wearing a vest and pants. Oh maaan   The result was even worse (sun shining v brightly). Both of these shots have given me the incentive I needed.

Its yoga today. I lost the Yoga X DVD in a hotel in Frankfurt a few years ago when I left a load of stuff behind in my hotel room, so today I will just have to make do with the class instead. Its not as strenuous, but better than nothing.
