Day 72 Feed Day

by rawkaren on 31 Oct 2013, 15:35

I have a sore a** on account of my exercise. More in a moment. These are yesterday's scores on the doors:

Calories 1326. 107 under
Carbs 22% (77g). In range
Fat 65% (99g)
Protein 13% (43g). Below range

Hmmmm struggling with my protein. I don't really it like it that much which is probably a good thing as MM talks about keeping IGF-1 low and the way to do that is a lower protein intake. However 99g of fat is v high. I have been researching on t'internet what is a healthy amount for someone of my size, and the number comes in at around 56g a day. There are anecdotes on the web about raw vegans (and I'm no longer one of them), getting cancer quite young, and many of them are known to have high fat intakes in their diets because they typically scarf nuts (unless they are part of the 30 bananas a day WOE). Hmmmm. Need to find proper research.

Breakfast was large. I have been in the gym again and needed to eat and its probably the best time to take in protein. So it was a bulletproof coffee, a two egg omelette with a small tin of yellowfin tuna in spring water, 8 cherry tomatoes and a slice of home made banana bread (paleo).

Lunch was 553 cals worth of salad because I ate a whole avocado with an apple, celery, zucchini, cucumber, red onion and some oil and cider vinegar. Pud was a fresh black turkish fig. Yum. Afternoon snack was a home made zucchini muffin (paleo). No dinner as I wanted to 16:8 and managed to get to lunchtime today before I had anything (except a small bulletproof).

Onto the sore a**. I made sure I kept moving this morning as my glutes were beginning to cease up, yet I had another workout to do today. So this morning has been v busy and then I did 'Kenpo X' which is basically a mixture of boxing and martial arts cardio work. I have done boxing before, but not martial arts moves, but it was easy to pick up, although some of it very fast. Really enjoyed it, but not sure how much intensity I put into it as my legs were tired from yesterday's workout. I also need a new battery for my heart rate monitor as the idea is to get the heart rate up. Roll forward a couple of hours and it hurts to stand up or sit down. :-P :-P Good job its a stretching day tomorrow and no real tough workout. Going to have an epsom salt bath tonight I think.

Today's positives is that I had a sneaky try on of a pair of Muubaa leather leggings that have not seen the light of day for a couple of years. Bought them off the Cocosa website, where I get most of my designer 'bargains'. They have a zip on the back of the leggings which makes them really hard to do up, especially as the puller is about the size of a tab at the end of a shoe lace and it really hurts your fingers. This means there that you cannot cheat your way into them (much). Anyway, drum roll.......... they fit  and was so happy I wore them this morning whilst I was out with a chunky black and silver sweater over and a pair of black chelsea boots and a nice scarf. When I took them off to get ready for the gym, I expected a red welt around my waist, but none

On other wardrobe fantasies, I was having a root through the closet yesterday as its getting colder. Tartan is back! I pulled out a beautiful sleeveless black taffeta dress (sleeveless and just on the knee), with a dark gold and grey tartan on it and a thick black cummerbund. It looks like Vivienne Westwood, but its Zara (size small)  I'm a good shopper and knew this would be a classic. This will be great for seasonal parties except that it doesn't fit :curse: , but I am bloody well going to get into it by the second week of December. I have been avoiding sleeveless dresses for a couple of years, so this is a good incentive to carry on with the gym as my arms scrub up well when I work them out.
