Day 76 Feed Day

by rawkaren on 04 Nov 2013, 08:58

I fasted yesterday as I want to do a 4:3 week this week and I have a busy week ahead, so wanted to get one under my belt. I was also feeling a little under the weather.

Fast Day calories 508
Carbs 21% (25g)
Fat 35% (20g)
Protein 43% (53g)

No breakfast. Lunch was a flank steak, a cup of cherry tomatoes cooked in balsamic, and a small portion of fresh raspberries.
Supper was a tbspn of miso paste boiled up with some frozen thai herbs (waitrose), fish sauce, lime juice and soy sauce with slim pasta added. The strong taste of the broth works well with the konjac. Must have this again as it was under 50 cals total.

I started feeling unwell on Friday afternoon. I had eaten too much kale in my smoothie and the bloating was really bad. I gather its caused by a sugar called raffinose and by Saturday morning I felt dreadful. Not the day to record waist measurement (up one inch in the month). I didn't count calories on Saturday as the combination of me flat lining weight wise in the month (thank goodness I didn't gain), and a stomach like a football, I decided to give myself the day off. I was in the kitchen mostly baking, but unfortunately I was picking all day plus a few glasses of malbec later, I suppose I blew the TDEE. Yesterday morning my stomach felt even worse, rather than better, but I think I had over carbed on Saturday, so only myself to blame.

The good news is that I carried on in the gym regardless. Saturday was chest, back and abs and yesterday was plyometrics. I feel stronger. The ab workout is around 350 ab exercises of sorts. I still can't do them all, but I'm shocked how far I have come in one week. Plyos was very good on account that I had alot of carb fuel to use up! Today is yoga and abs.

It's white over outside and brilliant sunshine. First heavy frost of the season. I would love to go out with my camera but too busy today. The cat is still incarcerated as his paw is healing and I don't want infection to set in or for him to catch it. He has been very poorly the past few days and I assume in alot of pain as he has been very quiet. However today he is very active. A good sign. Vet's tomorrow and if he is given the thumbs up (excuse the pun), then I will let him out although he is supposed to stay in for a week. But he is a countryside cat and being outdoors is his thing.

This weeks thing is trying daily weighing. I downloaded a couple of apps to see which one I prefer (True Weight and QuickLog.me). I wish I had not bothered this morning. I was about jumping for joy this morning as more of my clothes fit me even though my weight has stayed the same for the month (this is exercise pulling things in), so I thought I'd jump on the scales again, especially as the bloat had gone from the weekend and my waist is back to 27 inches. Well I was up two pounds since Saturday morning. The elation I felt from the clothes fitting dissipated immediately and I remembered why I don't like weighing myself. Gutted. Well I'm committed now so I guess I will have to weigh every day this week and see if it gets any easier.

Sorry to hear the scales were disappointing for you. Same for me this morning but Friday is 'official' weigh day so one more fast to do before that, one gym session and perhaps a 4.5k run. You must be getting more muscles and don't they say they're heavier than fat? Even if that's not true I like the sound of it.

Thank you! I'd like to think that were the case, but I have only been back in the gym for a week or so - could be wishful thinking! The scales are showing down today :-) Enjoy your run this week!
