Day 91

by rawkaren on 19 Nov 2013, 09:03

Busy few days ahead. Been out already this morning to do the Waitrose run. Minus 2, ice on the car and new ear muffs deployed :like:

Feel better after yesterday's fast day:
Calories 389
Carbs 18% (17g)
Fat 63% (27g)
Protein 19% (18g)

Large bulletproof coffee for breakfast and then for evening meal I had a kitchen cupboard staple of a whole tin of tomatoes, garlic, tomato puree, smoked paprika, 10 large raw prawns and a whole packet of zero pasta. Very large portion and total calorie count 169. Yum.

I managed two hours in the gym (an hour of yoga and and hour of core synergistics - what a gut buster) even though according to my new fitness tracker, I only managed 3500 steps in between all of that - so goodness knows where I would find the time to increase my steps too. So this morning I'm not 16:8ing as I wanted to eat. Also feeling a bit festive with the sunshine and ice, so my bulletproof had a dash of cinnamon in it and I had a caqui for breakfast (large persimmon). They remind me of Christmas in Spain. I was surprised to see them in the UK but spotted them in a greengrocers over the weekend and bought six of them, so they are begging to be eaten!

I'm going to get the gym out of the way now, top up my banana and pumpkin bread stocks and then spend the afternoon standing in the mirror rehearsing for two presentations. One tonight and one tomorrow. Need to get a grip on the nerves, so the secret to that is prep. Side benefit is that I will be too nervous to eat as I'm the after dinner speaker tonight and hopefully they will all be full of wine.... Thursday I'm in an all day meeting, so I will probably fast tomorrow and Friday. Out of practice in being busy. Oh and I'm behind with my social secretary commitments with a few mates. I hope I can still get into restaurants in December or I will be in big trouble. Need to spend less time on this forum

Wow Karen, another earmuff wearer ! I thought I was alone in this world. I have to wear them for a good 8-9 months of the year as I get ear ache badly.

I can get away with it this time of year, but try the summer, sleeveless top (when not trying to hide bingo wings!), sunnies on and the earmuffs. I get lots of comments and famous where I work as earmuff woman.... tad embarrassing ! And when you consider several hundred blokes work on site... even more embarrasing :-P Gives them something to laugh about though.

What earmuffs you got ? Do they fit snugly ?

That's funny Gill! This is my first year with earmuffs. They are rather large black fluffy ones. I bought them as a bit of a treat from Liberty's a few weeks ago from these people who I have never heard of before. http://www.blancheinthebrambles.co.uk/

ooo, they look fab ! Alot don't actually sit on the ears correctly, talking to an expert who has been wearing them for decades ! Had snoopy head on one ear and talk on the other, animal print... rabbit fur..

I even looked at some white Chanel ones once (when I had money!), they were hideous on. The Ugg ones are pretty naf for fitting as well, but I guess some people like them as a fashion statement !

A month ago I was parking up, and I heard a voice, I recognise this woman anywhere (I immediately think, is it my supermodel looks!!), but no, its ear muff woman this guy shouts out... ground open up and swallow me please.... :) Turned out it was someone I used to work with years ago and not seen for a while.

Hi Karen must say I enjoy your blog! What exactly is a bulletproof coffee? I'm intrigued lol. Nicole

Hiya Nicole. Thanks for your lovely comments. Bulletproof coffee comes from the bulletproofexec.com website. It's a guy called Dave Asprey who is a bio hacker and mostly paleo. He sells low toxin coffee as part of his regime which he then blends with MCT oil (medium chain triglyceride) and grass fed butter. Something he picked up when he was in Tibet. For my part, I just use a nespresso capsule and blend with coconut oil and grass fed butter. I'm working on the principle that I want to stay in fat burning mode for as long as possible especially when fasting, and I can work out a treat in the gym fuelled on it.

If you do care about low toxin coffee, and you are in the UK, apparently the brand to get is Monmouth, but personally, I'm just after the fat! My skin has improved so much since I started drinking it. I'm fortunate to be fairly wrinkle free, but I now get my mates asking me why I look so well

I have been up since 430 this morning, and have fuelled myself up with a bulletproof for a long day ahead. Since I'm not working out until tonight, I'm hoping this will see me through my fast day!
