Down but not out

That all changed this week when I went for a health check up. Blood pressure just in the range of hypertension and a BMI of 26. Now I know that does not seem horrible compared to some of these fabulous success stories on this forum, but I hit 50 last year and getting fed up of yo-yoing, falling off the diet when I drink too much wine, and getting up in the morning feeling a bit stiff and creaky.
I have done every single diet under the sun. You name it, I'm an expert, but it used to be about the dress size. This time its about health, so with a different motivation this time just might be different, (as heard on the programme "the Men that made us thin"). After that, something clicked finally.
Your stories are all so inspiring to me, and thank you so much for sharing them. I hope to give back by inspiring others with my journey as it unfolds, even if it might just turn into an incoherent ramble. Tomorrow is first fast day. I know I will get through it ok - I'm pretty good at things when they are novel. I'm looking to do something I have never managed before - being able to sustain it - even if it means being average at a pound a week.
